We will be staying in a one bedroom unit and are trying to figure out if an upgrade in view is worth it? If we go with the regular view, what can we expect?

Thanks! :wizard:

depends upon what you are calling regular view - Lake view or standard view.

standard view stops at 5th floor - but I love it (don't participate like heights - so it is perfect)

the lake view is the majority of the building. if you can get an even room on the north side with a higher floor - you should be okay.

you might get a view of the Mk.

of course you can pay for a view of the MK - then be sure to request floors over the 7th floor - the bottom floors of the MK view are the parking lot, monrail. that say if you get one of the bottom floors you probably won't be going MK view again.

This was the view that greeted us when we checked in for our first stay at BLT - a Lake View on the 14th floor.
Well worth every single point - priceless!

Everyone has different tastes. I like the BLT Lake view better than the Theme Park view with the top of the Castle in the distance, the parking lot in the foreground and the roof of Space Mountain.

Even though we own there and have stayed there 4 times, BLT is our least favorite resort at WDW. The location is nice if you are spending a lot of time at the MK or if you want to be on the Monorail loop, other than that, we just don't care for the decor or their choice of furnishings.

I'd say the MK view is good to do once, it is a nice view especially from the higher floors. It's nice to wake up at night look out and see the castle all lit up. Lake view as many unique features too. Depending on the room you get views of the activity at the marina and lake, you can see the higher fireworks at EPCOT and the electric water parade, and the activity at the pool. The STD view is good if you're short on points. Both the Lake view and the Std view have an opportunity to see MK if you can get an even numbered room in the north tower.

We are here at BLT tonight in a standard 1 bedroom on the second floor. I am in bed now and see both Space Mountain and the castle! This is great and it is a standard view-amazing. If I could be sure to get this view again I'd cancel my MK view 2 bedroom for March and get standard again.

edit: I'm eating breakfast with a view directly of the castle this morning. I highly recommend room 7220!

Which do you like more, BLT Castle View or BWV, Boardwalk View?

As far as overall view, nothing beats the boardwalk view. There is so much to watch from that view! But, the castle is, well, it's THE CASTLE. Even with the parking lot view in front of it, it is hard to beat the changing colors of the castle at night viewed directly from bed. I think I woke up 5 or 6 times last night and just looked over to see the castle because I could!

With any of the different view categories, it seems like you can get some that are really great, and some not so great. We had a fantastic lake view room when we stayed at BLT a couple of years ago, but I have heard of some people who have been very unhappy with their MK view rooms. I would probably not spend the extra points on the MK view, especially if I could get a standard view room.

Yes, I think we are leaning towards the standard view and taking our chances at this point. We will be spliting our stay and are trying to decide where else to stay...we've stayed everywhere else so it's just a matter of preference now... :confused3 decisions, decisions....

BWV is our fav but we've never done BW view so we are considering that if we can get it but we are also thinking about BCV because of the pool.

well worth it if you love fireworks and have kids. waking up to magic kingdom and going to sleep to it is absolutely perfect for my family. we love it. im dying to get there in 44 days.

just be sure to ask for an even number rooms - this is the outside of the circle.

the odd number are inside the circle - so unless you like seeing other people across the courtyard from you - this is to be avoided if possible.

We had a great standard view on the 2nd floor overlooking the courtyard fountain, palm trees and the pool off to the right. I've thought about putting out more points in the future for lake view if I knew for sure I'd get a high floor. If I wound up on the say the 5th floor I would wish I booked standard view. lol

We stayed in a 2 bdrm last week. My husband who usually is not impressed with the views was very impressed with the view we had from room 7822 on the 8th floor. The reason we picked MK view was because we had our young granddaughters with us this trip. They weren't disappointed either. They love the moonorail and we also had a great view of the trains going into and out of the Contemporary. We also had a great view of the castle, space mountain and the GF. We really enjoyed this room. Thought it was well worth the extra points.

We prefer lake view. Not worth it to us for the points. You have an awesome view just waiting for the elevator or walking across to the main building. We like watching the boats and the early morning traffic on Bay Lake.

In May we had standard view on the first floor but it was lake side so we looked towards the marina. This was an awesome room.
