Thank you for posting! I was especially excited to see it because my Dh and I just bought DVC with BLT as our home resort. Sorry if this has already been asked, but what is Welcome Home Wednesdays? I guess I have all this new stuff to learn!

Ok Ok...a lot of people asked if Disney did anything special for us for being the first to check in. To be honest JUST THE HONOR was enough...

Welcome Home Wednesday is a weekly meeting that takes place at the Community Hall at the BWV. I believe it is an hour long and offers information on current sales incentives, current information about DVC, and has a friendly trivia game that members can be selected to play. I also think they have refreshments (light) and often give everyone who goes a little something (right now members are receiving DVC ball caps). I am no expert, but that is what I know right now. I believe there is information on the members' site too. Hope it helped a little.

Yep, you described it very well! Also at this time of year it is also important to note that it is Air Conditioned!

If you are traveling with some people that are not DVC members (or vice-versa) you can get the entire party into the event...which is cool for the non-dvc members in your party.

Congrats on being the first to check in, that is definitely a good story to be able to tell! I know you mentioned that the studio was a bit smaller than the other studios, but did you find it TOO small? It will just be 2 of us staying in one in October, but I am nervous. Did you think there was space (closet o otherwise) to store 2 suitcases? This is our first DVC stay anywhere, so I really don't know what to expect with the studios. Thanks, and I would love any input you have with experiencing the studio layout at BLT!

Congrats on being the first to check into BLT! What a great honor and I am so tickled Disney gave you all those nice gifts... (ok a little jealous)

I gotta ask though.. You are the first in and you get the bottom floor with a view you don't sound too happy with. I know you booked standard, but couldn't they come up with a different room if you didn't like the view. I guess I don't know which rooms are considered standard. We have a lake view booked in November so I hope we at least get to see the lake. We always have the same luck with view. We end up with great locations of the room, but lousy views! But hey we are at Disney so I can't complain. We are just so happy to be going home. Did you find the studio too cramped with three people. We will be four with our two children so we are nervous!

Same here...although we've also gotten great views in not-so-great locations. I'll bet it's part of the Disney plan

Never had a room I couldn't find something good about (crossing fingers)...
