Only thing that makes me hesitate on AKL is transportation. You need to take the bus everywhere. No option to walk to a park for instance. Otherwise, I think the resort looks really good, especially the pool area.

Sadly, yes. But I understand why they do it. Membership needs to provide unique perks. Enjoy BLT!

A thought for Disney. Perhaps they could provide access to the lounge to non DVC guests for a fee. Would be a way to give everyone a chance to access it.

We are also staying at BLT in December paying cash (not DVC). I am wondering about what housekeeping supplies for the kitchen. Do I need to bring soap for the dishwasher? How about laundry detergent?

As a cash guest you will get daily mousekeeping. They will replenish your supplies at that time. Dishwashing soap I wouldn't worry about. Be aware though, that they only leave a one-time-use box of laundry detergent so if you'll need more than one a day, I suggest you bring your own.

Correct. As cash guests, we got daily replenishes of all kitchen supplies including dishwasher and laundry. Never ran out of anything.

Correct. They replenished all detergents daily if required. We were cash guests.
