I have booked a 1 Bedroom Standard View Villa for December at BLT. I know the refurb has started/is starting this month. Based on other refurbishments, do we know roughly long into refurbishments that guests can stay in refurbished rooms? I’m thinking 3 months into a refurb is a little ambitious to think we’ll get a refurbished villa, and of course we’re all guessing at this point, but just wondering :) Also, if anyone has stayed in a 1-bedroom villa at BLT recently, are they in bad shape? I have had good experiences in Studios here recently, but haven’t stayed in a Villa here, and I know there’s quite a lot of complaints about rooms here!

I'm just the opposite of you, I'm hoping things slow down, they start on the top floor and we also.in standard 1 bedrooms) will be waaaayyyyy down in the lower floors. Not that new isn't nice, I just don't want the work to be so close, we get lots of daytime noise.

We have a stay booked for next March and are not getting our hopes up for a refurbished room. If it happens, that will just be a bonus.

The website is saying Sept 2024 to Sept 2025 - do people think they’ll be in mostly refurbed rooms by February? I am trying to decide for a trip then, and figured BLT would be a massive construction zone and still mostly old rooms, so I took it out of the running.

With February being about half way through the construction, is it reasonable to think they would be about half way through the rooms? I don't know how these remodels work, if it is a linear timeframe like that or not.

In my experience Disney does a good job of minimizing the construction impact to existing guests, which is why we went ahead and booked our room.

No, in fact I would expect the refurb to go on even longer than Sept. 2025, based on how Boardwalk's refurb went.

I might be a pessimist, though. It is a tower versus Boardwalk's sprawl, so we'll see. I'm more concerned it may not start on time (i.e. this month).

It’s their wording that made me nervous…guests “will” see and hear construction rather than “may” like is in some of the other refurb notices. They’re definitely erring on the side of disruption, so I’m thinking even a 50-50 chance of a new room isn’t a high enough set of odds.

We took it out of the running as well...bringing extended family for their first Disney Trip in April and while we wanted to be able to walk to MK, the idea that some things around the resort may be closed/being worked on and general construction throughout the resort led us to Poly for this trip...coincidentally, we are hoping construction has wrapped up around the new tower as we want to try a 2-bedroom villa there.

I went on DVC chat yesterday, and asked to see if they’re refurbishing the top or bottom floors of Bay Lake Tower first, and the cast member told me they haven’t been informed yet, but it was possible that I may get a refurbished room (1 bedroom standard view) in December. If they don’t have this information yet, I’m wondering how likely this actually is.

Just saw in a BLT group on Facebook that the entire south side of the tower (side closest to Contemporary) is closing on Sunday for construction! We'll see if the storm delays this, but sounds like things are imminent!

Whoa, that must be a lot of rooms! So excited for this refurbishment. Hoping some rooms are refurbished in the next few months.

We’re due to check in towards the end of October, tbh feeling a bit nervous now about how much disruption we might face.

In our experience Disney does a decent job of minimizing construction disruptions that guests experience during reburbishments. Two of our home resorts, GFV and HHI underwent refurb not long ago and we stayed at both during this phase. Although we did notice scaffolding, construction equipment, and some closed off areas, our stay was honestly not impacted and the noise was truly kept to a min. We enjoyed our time at both resorts.

Thanks Disney_Funster VGF is one of our homes too and yes our last couple of stays weren’t too badly impacted despite lots of scaffolding! I guess I’m just hoping that it won’t impact our first BLT stay too much keeping my fingers crossed that all will be ok.

So glad to hear this. We will be spending at least 50% of our trip in the room. We've never stayed in a resort while under refurb.

I hear you. We have a June stay this summer and I’m hoping for the same. Especially since it will be several of us, including some “non-Disney” peeps that like to complain at times 🙄😂
