Bay Lake skybridge question

We will be staying at Bay Lake and other family will be staying in the tower at the Contemporary. Will they be able to take the skybridge over to visit us if they're not staying at Bay Lake? I can't remember if Members have to scan your magic band for the door at the skybridge but am thinking you do. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance!

There are scanners, but I’ve never had to use them. Maybe they’re activated after hours? During the day, I wouldn’t worry about it.

We needed scanners but forgot ours. We just waited for someone to let us in. Hope that helps!!!

The last time I was there, the doors at the Contemporary end were opened pretty much all the time.

I've never seen the doors locked. Not saying it doesn't happen, but I've been there all hours except late at night, and the doors are always open.

A long time ago I found them locked. Haven’t seen that for at least 2 years.

They used to lock them late at night and you would have to scan your band to get in, but that was a few years ago. My last trip in February the skyway was open in both directions even late at night.

We stayed at BLT in February. Doors were never locked, although I have seen them locked (needing a Band, card, etc.) in the past.
