i just spoke with member services and they provided this information:

hours - 5p-12 midnight

max occupancy - 77 people

first come first serve basis - no reservations can be made

requirements - has to be a dvc reservation at bay lake tower only and visitors will be asked for room key, they will be checking to see if cardholders are dvc members

This is for the lounge, right, not the observation deck that supposedly will accommodate around 300 people.

I have visions of people forming lines before opening just so they can get into the lounge four (or more) hours before Wishes even starts. I wonder why they decided to go with no reservations

Edit: Thanks for the details, though, a lot of us have been waiting to hear about this for a while now.

I'm a DVC member but my Wife is not on the contract. Since we will be in the same room staying on points (BLT home resort no less) do you think they will let us both in??? Our room keys should both say "DVC Member" I would think, and I'll bring my blue DVC member card... We are arriving the Sunday after Thanksgiving and I sure hope they'll let her in. Otherwise she might not be too happy with me if/when i go by myself!!!

I would like to know this also. We go down in Oct. I thought the lounge and observation were one in the same. I guess I was wrong. If anyone knows the answer please post it...smjj

You won't have a problem.

We're in the same situation, with hubby being the owner and me an associate. DS isn't even that, though I just noticed our Disneyland Hotel keycard has him as a DVC member. :goodvibes

This will be interesting. Now since the lounge is a bar, I'm wondering how comfortable some folks are about taking their kids. Will there be a one drink minimum? Just some thoughts.

I don't see this as a problem - my children have sat in various lounges in WDW and been very happy with their own "cocktail" (non alcoholic of course!)

I can't wait to see it here; it looks amazing.

Well, you guys won't be competing with me for space up there - I'm deathly afraid of heights! :lmao:

I'm going to have to get a lower floor room, and I'm not even sure if I can take the walkway to BLT. :confused3 Oh, well, good thing I didn't buy into it for the view, eh?

I hope all of you who go up top have an absolute blast watching the fireworks from there. :goodvibes

Great video! I think I'd rather watch the fireworks outside. That lounge is going to get crowded and everyone is not going to be able to see.

I truly hope Disney does a better job of enforcing the restrictions than they do in other areas. This will be interesting to watch. :surfweb:

Thanks for posting the video. We do hope to buy some points there!
Bobbi:goodvibes

Wow - so renters are not allowed in? I sure hope members are upfront with their renters about that cuz it could be a dealbreaker for some! :scared:

Wow. I didn't think I really waned to use points there due to the higher points required per room, but that video may have changed my mind. The views are amazing. Even a LV will be awesome.

The video was outstanding!!

But why isn't this information about the observation deck in our contract?? :confused3

I read it ALL before I signed it, and I don't remember seeing it. They should have the regulations stated somewhere, or even on the members website!!!

Has anyone read this information anywhere?? And if so, where??
