Bathrooms on Planes

Sorry to post a silly question but all the flights I've been on in recent years have been the two hour flights to Orlando. We are flying to Disneyland in November. We have a three hour flight to Phoenix where we stop but do not change planes. When we stop, will we be able to get up and stretch and go to the bathroom before they start boarding? Never experienced this and wanted to know what to expect. Thanks!

Yes, and if it is a Southwest Flight(Not Airtran ran) you will actually be able to get up and walk around and change seats before the others board the plane.

I'll add to what JimboCH said about SW. The only thing you will need to do is wait for them to do a head count of those of you left on the plane, then you can get up and move.

Ask a crew member . . . You may be able to get off the plane and take a real walk and use a real toilet. Notice, MAY, it all depends.

If you arrive more than 30 minutes before the next departure you will be able to get off. Less than 30 minutes and they will be starting the boarding process for the next flight.

I use the bathroom before we board the plane, JetBlue, fly 2.5 hours to MCO, drink less than 4 oz. on the plane, and then use the bathroom at MCO, while the luggage finally arrives in the round-about luggage carousel.

No use of a plane tiny little - most likely not sanitary, bathroom.

I completely agree.

There usually isn't lot of time. I did a continuing flight in March. They asked us to remain seated while the others got off. They then did a head count. Then they said we could change seats if we wanted. It wasn't more than 5 or 10 minutes before the next group started getting on.

I agree about the airplane bathroom - Gross. Would never step foot in one God only knows what germs you will pick up. Just like the tray back tables that are crawling with germs. After a news story about all the germy places on a plane I would not every use the bathroom or a tray table and use hand sanitizer after I buckle up.

I always take a little pack of sanitizing wipes with me and wipe the tray down, the arm rests, etc. before I get comfy in my seat. I have had to use the bathroom in a plane once and although I don't like to, I will have to if I have no other option. I won't be able to wait four or five hours to my destination.

I've had a couple of Southwest flights that have had stops, but no plane change. One was a shorter stop and like others said, we stayed in our seats, they did a head count and then we changed spots before others boarded.

The last flight I had with Southwest had a longer stop and so after doing the head count we were able to leave the plane. It was great using a real bathroom and the bonus - got to buy some frozen yogurt! Plus when we got back on we were able to pick new seats.
