I know the Magical Express busses are similar to tour buses. Do they have bathrooms?

There has been a bathroom on every ME bus I have been on.:)

DME buses are really tour buses..so have all the same 'equipment' the tour buses have. BUT..having said that, the bathrooms on them are nothing to write home about. Very small, not at all pleasant, but do serve the purpose.

There is an "emergency" bathroom in the DME buses. During periods of peak demand Mears may use non-DME buses which might not have a bathroom. Use the bathroom before boarding the bus.

Well now....that would be common sense!! I always recommend using the restrooms before boarding planes, trains, and buses!!! Always a smart move.

Interesting and good to know - in all the times I've ridden ME, I've never noticed the bathroom in the back (no one used it and the door must have been closed all the time). I have ridden DME in a non-Disney bus (the bus had Mears written on the side and it wasn't during the peak time), so you never know when a non-DME bus will be used.

They all have a small restroom in the rear of the coach, including the Mears buses.

There have been cases where Mears used a bus without a restroom. It's also possible the rest room could be out of order.

I'd plan on using the bathroom before boarding. I'd ask the driver if the bus has a working restroom if I had some kind of condition that might require using the restroom during the 30 minute or so drive.

I can't think of a single Mears bus without a bathroom.
Out of order would be another story but the bus never should have left the yard.

Absolutely they have a small one in the back. How do I know???? Well one time going from the resort to the airport to go home. I really really really needed to go. DH kept saying there is a bathroom in the back I said no there is not so I was holding it and finally I got to the point where I had to go no matter what. Sooooooo I asked the ME driver and he said yes there is one in the back. So lesson learned DH is not always wrong. LOL

Thanks for the info everyone!

This came up because we told some friends that we were arriving at MCO at 4:45 on a Friday afternoon, and the friends proceeded to tell us that traffic is so horrible at that time on a Friday that we would be sitting on the highway in the Magical Express bus for upwards of two hours!!!:sad2::sad1: Which then lead to the discussion of what if you have to use the bathroom. which lead to a 'disagrement' between hubby and I if the busses had bathrooms. He was right!!!

Anyway, will we be sitting on the expressway for 2 hours if we land at MCO on a Friday night at 4:45?

Sitting for 2 hours would be very unlikely. The ride is about 35 minutes to WDW from MCO and the highway the buses use is very rarely congested.

Hogwash---mostly because the ME buses use the toll road to get to the attractions zone, rather than I-4. I-4 can back up, the toll road very rarely does---especially not for those using electronic toll collection (as the buses do).

Where do people come up with this stuff???

You absolutely will not be sitting in traffic for two hours. If your plan arrives at 4:45, you can plan on being at your resort by 6:15 (assuming you are letting ME take care of your luggage.)

Thanks for reassuring me that it won't be that bad! I thought that seemed like an awfully long time, but what do I know :confused3
