Has anyone seen the new plug in airfresheners with a night light attached? I think Glade makes them, but whom ever the manufacturer, I am positive that they were made for Cruisers! I saw it at Home Depot the other day, I am going to buy one and put it in my "cruise Box".;) ;)

We usually just leave the bathroom light on with the door cracked open...plenty of light for the night time with that.

That went ditto for me, too, until the ship started swaying and the door started banging....Time for a door jamb....

:sunny: We leave the closet door open a little. I also put a towel on the bottem incast slams at night. We had rough seast this time and it did not close.

Hate to burst your bubble. I got an e mail from a friend warning against those air fresheners that plug in. The e mail said that it caused a fire in the house and the house burnt down. I don't have the e mail anymore but I'm sure someone out there must have it. Maybe they'll post a link here. Or maybe it was all a hoax and we better all go out and get one of those air fresheners wi/a night light. I'm sure someone here will know about it.

that email was true. It was on either 20/20 or some news show like that about a year ago I guess. I can not recall what ones they were but they did in deed start fires.

No actual reported fires.....but a lengthy background read:

Can I just say "I love that website". Everytime I get an email about some warning etc, I find the link and send it to them. Urban Myths are so abundant lately.

We plug a night light into the extension cord - That way we can place the night light where we want - A couple of nights, we hung the night light up on the wall curtain with clothes pins -

drclaws-That was the e mail I was referring to. Thanks for finding it. I guess all of them were recalled so maybe we can all go out and buy those air freshners with a night light in them ...or was it all plug in air freshners that pose a hazard?

I don't recall an actual outlet in the bathroom other than one for a razor. I think I brought a night light with me for those mid-night excursions to the bathroom, (I don't want to be awakened by bright lights when sleepwalking;)) but could not plug it in.

We left the light on and cracked the door. It was enough for us and we didn't have any trouble with the door banging.

I can't remember the outlet situation in the bathroom. I know there was an outlet at the desk, though. That's what I used for my curling iron.

The problem that is being referred to in the e-mail received and the SNOPES article is related ONLY to the Glad Plug-Ins with Scented Oils. There is also a plug-in made with a nightlight which uses the "stick" air fresheners (for lack of a better term). DW and I have multiple in our house and have never had an issue with them. Hope this helps.

I believe the OP is making reference to killing 2 birds with one stone, so to speak! I haven't ever used a night light on a cruise, I do have a mini mag flash light, but I also have no kids to worry about. But I think if there is a way to plug in one of these dual duty ones, I may do that next time, sometimes the drains get a tad stinky, too.

ETA - spelling correction (as usual)

You might consider using a glow stick....the ones you snap and shake. They last all night long and are inexpensive. These things have been a life saver for us, after a long day at the parks they can help a tired child get into bed time mode.:D
