I'm putting together my packing list and it will certainly help alot if I don't have to bring shampoo and conditioner - those little baggies only fit so much! I have heard that the resorts will charge you for extra shampoo and conditioner if you need more than what is in your room! I have never, ever had this happen, in fact I have requested extra from mousekeeping since I love it so much. Has anyone had this happen? :confused3 One little bottle will not get me through a whole week. Thanks!

We've never been charged for additional toiletries. In fact it seems like they leave some every day whether the ones already there are empty or not. I've heard that if you are staying on DVC points you may have to pay a small fee for additional toiletries but we stay DVC now and haven't run out so I can't swear to that. We've only stayed at CBR, Poly and SSR so I can't say how the value resorts handle this.

They always seem to leave me a fresh supply every day, whether I need them or not! I've never been charged for them.

I have not had this happen to me 2 weeks ago at AKL.

Actually we didn't get any of the shower gel and since we didn't bring any we had to use the bar of soap on the first night. So we wrote a small note for mousekeeping and when we got back from the parks we saw like like 10 bottles of it was left on the bathroom sink! Also left for us were the aloe sun gel, some extra tooth brushes, more shampoo & conditoner and a note with a smiley face on it.

Definitely didn't get charged for anything. :)

If you think the tiny bottle won't get you through the day, even, just call Housekeeping and they'll bring you more.

The DVC resorts charge extra for members on points. A regular reservation just call housekeeping no charge.

Thanks all! This makes me feel alot better - one less thing to pack :thumbsup2

Can anyone list what toiletries are given? (staying at YC CL if that makes any difference)

Thanks :)

IIRC, YC CL gives shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soaps, maybe shower gel (that's a newish thing but nice). I believe we had a toothbrush and toothpaste too. If you can get it the aloe sun gel is awesome! we had some on the Dream in April.

What's the ALoe Sun Gel?

A Word to the Wise - sometimes, the resorts RUN OUT of toiletry items. Last month we were at Kidani and when we checked in, I noticed there was no shampoo. The display was the same as if it was there (there must be a standard way to display them in all resorts, because it was laid out exactly like the previous resort we had been in - we had a split stay), but no shampoo. We were in a 1BR with 2 bathrooms, so I checked the other bathroom and it was the same - two bath gels but no shampoo. I asked about it and was told they were out! :confused3

I had to laugh, because in the meantime, my son (8) took a shower and insisted he'd used shampoo. He fell for the ruse and had used the shower gel as shampoo (which, on his hair, was probably perfectly fine!)

Anyway, I suppose they expected some people wouldn't notice? I was glad we had brought shampoo and that we had brought our leftovers from the first half of our stay with us......
