Bathing w/ your child. Opinion?

Well, count me in as a wierdo. I just got out of the bath where I enjoyed some good old splashy fun with my 30 month old little guy. It never occured to me that anyone would think that it was odd in any way. :confused3 No, I won't be bathing with him when he's 14. I imagine that sometime in the not so distant future he will develop a sense of modesty or awareness or whatever and I'll stop bathing with him, changing in front of him, etc. because it would make both of us uncomfortable. That certainly hasn't happened yet, though. Honestly, I can't imagine not bathing with my baby/toddler. It's so much fun! We don't do it every night because of time, but we do at least a few times a week.

Of course, he's still nursing, too, so a bath seems like no biggie at all.

DH just isn't a bath kind of guy. He doens't take them at all - alone or with company. He does take Paul into the shower with him pretty often, though.

Oh well. Somebody better call children's services . . .

You are still nursing a child who is about to be 3!?!?!?!? OMG..call the police, call child services, call the govenor! Call SOMEBODY! ;) That is just WRONG! :rotfl2:

LOL....I could have written that except I don't breastfeed, I co-sleep! (the 3 year old is much comfort when Dad is at work) :scared1: :scared1: Call them on me too ;)

Oh, yeah. We co-sleep as well. And sometimes, Paul is actually in the bed with us while we're sleeping . . . naked. Yep. Naked. :scared1:

Oh well. I guess I can always use that money I'm putting into his college fund for therapy sessions . . .

Well they should all round us up because I used to as well! lol I used to put on my swimsuit and take a bath with my ds until he was almost 3. My dh used to do it too. It was a fun bonding thing. :)

I could never do it now though, not because of the wierd factor , but because my behind is to huge to fit in the tub with him! :rotfl:

with my boys they all stopped bathing with me at about 3 years old.
With my girls My 5 year old still sometimes hops in the tubby with me and my baby girl who is almost two takes baths with me at least 3 times a week. the other times she takes it with sissy( her big sister)

I see no problem with this at all. Thats just my two cents!!!!

Well I nursed all my kids till they were almost 3 and 2 1/2
But my last baby desided to stop nursing one day. She was 20 months old....

Just to add one last weird story to the mix, I shower with my male dog about once a month. Yup! Weird!

He is a golden retriever and is to big to put in a tub to bath. We only have one of those deep garden tubs and I can't lift him in an out.

In the summer, I will give him a bath outside with the hose, but it is to cool in the winter.

If I get in the shower with him dressed, I'd be a mess. So, when I get ready to take a shower, I will call him into the shower. He sits there very patiently while I bath him. I quickly turn off the shower and towel him off and let him out. Then, I turn the water back on and finish my shower. He really doesn't seem to mind even though I am not exactly gorgeous in my naked state. That's the great thing about dogs. They love you unconditionally! :rolleyes1

Yes, but are you sure he isn't secretly uncomfortable on some subconscious level? I mean, maybe it would be ok if he was a female dog . . . :rotfl2:

Nope, nevermind. After careful consideration, I have determined that you are obviously a sicko, Peg.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Yep, she's one sick puppy... :teeth:

One if not both my sisters shower with their dogs. I was surprised when one of my sisters told me since she's the prude of the family and was probably never naked in front of her children. :rotfl:

I'm almost as sick as you. I shower with my female Golden Retriever.

At least I'm in there with another female. :rolleyes2

Yes, but do you bath with Tigger and Belle? My cat is actually always very interested in anyone talking a bath. The new jet tub really has her baffled. She can't figure out where the bubbles come from and try to bat them. I keep waiting for him to fall in, but after 10 years of having this cat he has never fallen in, even when I gave him a little push! :teeth: :lmao:

Of course anyone who would bath witha cat (who still has claws) would be a little nuts! :rotfl2:

Wait. At the same time? Or separately? This just gets worse and worse. How can there possibly be room for two women and two dogs in one shower??

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OMG. I throw all our three dogs into the shower with me in the cooler weather, too.

It's a human/canine menage-a-quad! :scared:

(Tigger & Belle--you be nice!!! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: )

Is that some kind of twisted pun??

Yep, sure is! :rotfl:

And no, my sisters don't shower together. :rotfl2: I am ROTFLMAO at the thought of that one!

I don't bathe cats! Had to bathe the kittens this fall when they had fleas and how a 5 pound bundle of fur (and claws) could rip me up like that I couldn't figure out, but it was a humbling experience. I was laughing all the way through it, but will never repeat it. Even though I'd rather be doing that right now than the barf clean up that I was doing last night that I need to finish cleaning up.

One of the kittens almost fell into the toilet when I was peeing the other day. He's a fast little bugger and these 2 little ones are into everything. Tigger and Belle were never this much trouble.

One time my sister's kitten fell in the tub when I was taking a bath. And no, my sister was not in the tub with me!!! :rotfl:
