Bathing Suits instead of Ponchos

How do you protect it from the sweat??? The heat??? Walking around the park all day in the heat *and I live here* will give me frizzies no matter what. I have pin straight hair too. Or do you mean just not getting hair wet?
I meant that wearing water tolerant clothing (and shoes) is similar to wearing a bathing suit, but in case of rain, we still often wear a poncho or jacket because water tolerant clothing doesn't keep my hair and face from getting drenched.

Now mild-ish rain, I often don't care. End of the night, we don't much care. One trip, we went on Kali in the pouring rain, and it was wonderful, at least until we had to get on the highly air conditioned bus! Brrr!

Did you cut out the liners? Wearing boxers with a suit that has a typical liner changes uncomfortable to very uncomfortable. Or were they wearing unlined, knee length board shorts?

I wouldn't recommend doing this with anything but synthetic underwear such as Underarmor, unless they're going to change out of them as soon as they're done swimming.

Most men/tween swimwear do not have mesh lining. At least the higher end or surfer brands and board shorts do not. Between my husband and 3 sons, none have had liners in many many years. My boys wear the hybrid board shorts with pockets.

I was just going to post this same thing. When shopping for new swim shorts for my DH before vacation this year, I had a hard time finding any that he didn't need to wear underwear with. The ones I ended up getting were Speedo brand from Kohl's and they did have a mesh lining, but it was as long as the shorts instead of just being like briefs. DH LOVED those and has already asked me to get him a couple more pair for next summer.

Where do you get them? In my experience, most do, with the exception of board shorts, and I refuse to wear anything that long for swimming. Thankfully, traditional trunks are coming back in style. On this J. Crew page, just the Birdwells don't have liners.

Yes Kohls often had them like the WDW stores in my pics. Have not checked WDW in a while as we have so many.

There are tons without mesh liners, finding liners is the hard part if desired.

Just a sample with interior mesh brief for $25 up:

My son has worn swim trunks to AK before with no issues! The dried out quickly and did not bother him. Dd s take a change of clothes ,just in case. My oldest is ALWAYS the one who gets drenched, last time on Kali rr her hair and undergarments were soaked through!!!

What about kids? Or board shorts with a rash guard?

Absolutely fine, a great idea. Many rash guard shirts also have built in sun protection in the material

Exactly! You'd be hard pressed to tell them apart. from regular athleisure wear/wicking shirts & bottoms.

Have been seeing them in the parks for years and recommend highly.

Combine with a pair of keen H20's or Tevas & you're good to go on water rides and student downpours.

I am not quite as big of a fan of women wearing the wicking sports bras unless covered with at least a loose-fitting tank top. I'm quite sure my DH would heartily disagree.
