I bought a tankini from Landsend last year at their end-of-season sale. I LOVE it and their sale just started again.

The suits start at $29 and there are several choices at that price

Excellent fit (I buy long torso since I have a high waist and things tend to be too short on me) and wear - my suit is nearly a year old, was used last year on the cruise (Oct 26) and all this summer (June and July, twice a weekend at the lake) and is in great shape. I rinse it after every swim (rinse cycle in washer) and wash it with soap every other time.

I would love to take advantage of something like this but honestly, a bathing suit is something I need to try on first. How do you guys manage to order them by mail?

it was my first time for a suit too! I did my measurements, checked their sizing charts and then ordered a size up (which I always do for bathing suits as they tend to ride and shrink lol).

Landsend also has My Virtual Model on a lot of their suits. You can put in your height, weight, answer questions about your body shape (well defined waist, undefined waist), hair, face, etc. and get a pretty good representation of the way you look. I've had friends do this at their current weight and then at a goal weight (for dieting/exercising) and use the pics as motivation

Order multiple sizes, too.

I have ordered the same suit in different sizes if I am sure I like the suit, but not sure of the fit.

Landsend is such a great company! I keep the stuff I like and ship all the rest back. Also, you can try on Landsend stuff at Sears now. I dont' think they put the stuff on sale as they do on the website, but you'll get a good idea of the sizes and fit.

I bought the Land's End sport tankini for my recent cruise. I absolutely love it. It fits great, which is a first for me. I did the virtual model and it was a perfect representation. Also, I called their fit consultants to help me determine the best styles and size. This is, hands down, the best bathing suit experince of my life! I highly recommend Land's End for bathing suits, especially if you have a hard time finding something that fits properly.

No comment about the swimwear but I didn't know how else to tell you I think the picture is adorable!!!

I just bought two bathing suits from Lands End thanks to this post. I've been looking for a couple more for our cruise in October but haven't been able to find anything that I like.
