My sister (ms. fashionista) is telling me the 1 piece is making a HUGE comeback this year, with that said what will you be sporting this season?

I am looking into Land's End one pieces, can you use a sears gift card or do they have land's end gift cards to purchase anywhere? And can you return it to sears if you don't like it?

I haven't done a 1pc in a lo-ong time. I've been wearing a tankini, either with shorts or a skirt for at least 5 years. The suit I bought last year, love the skirt, hate the top. I found a separate tankini top this year that matches the skirt, so it's almost like having a new suit. I can't say that I saw any more 1pc suits where I work vs. other years. We do carry a lot more separates this year to mix and match.

I don't like the way a 1-pc suit looks on me at all. I have worn a tankini since I had my 1st DS, before that it was a bikini, but I'm not going there now.

The Sears closest to me has a small section of Lands' End things in the store.

I agree with you. I think a 1-pc suit looks awful on me, but a tankini is fine. You would think it'd be the same thing, but I've always hated how 1-pc suits look on me.

Another tankini wearer here. Mine completely covers the belly, so it has the basic look of a one-piece suit. But I find I can get a much better fit with a tankini (long torso)... and two-piece suits are much more convenient, I think.

By the way, yes... you can use a Sears (or Kmart) gift card at LandsEnd.com. You can also use them to purchase LandsEnd items in your local Sears store. And you can return items purchased online to your local Sears, too.

I think it's less about fashion and more about what looks good on YOU. You know what looks better on your body and what you're comfortable in, where what you like, not what the "fashionista" says what's "in".

I've noticed that the one piece seems to be coming back. I'm quite excited. I'm more modest but for years have had a hard time finding one piece suits that still looked young and fashionable. I'm only 27 and tiny and most of what was out there looked more for older generations or larger women. I got 3 new suits this year and they all are one pieces with a slightly retro feel. I love that I can take DD swimming and feel comforetable and secure in my suit but still look hip.

I'll admit it, I'm not little, and I'm getting perilously close to old. Last year I tried a tankini for the first time, and while I don't think it looks too bad (or I wouldn't have purchased it at all), I've got to say that I really don't lilke it much.

Unlike a lot of people my size, I swim, really swim, most often in open water. I really don't like having to fight a top that floats up in the current, and that goes double for skirts. From here on out I'm sticking to one-piece suits. My tush may be big, but the skirts just drive me insane in the water, so no skirted bottoms for me -- I'll just live with the horror of exposed thighs until I can reach my cover-up.

I bought a suit from Land's End this year. I got the new Valletta bandeau tank in the purple. (DH has only one opinion about my swimsuits; he hates black. Like I said, I prefer utilitarian suits, and he says that in black my suits are too old-lady looking, so he pushes for some kind of color. I humor him most of the time.)

I wear a 2 piece tankini. There is no way I'm putting my 37 year old body in a 2 piece that doesn't cover up everything

I would say forget what's in fashion and just get what you feel comfortable in. But that's the way I've always been. You should do what's best for you, not what the fashionista's say.

The problem is....I look awful in both lol.
Really, A tankini would be fine IF I could find one with an underwire or SOMETHING to hold the girls up. I'm by no means big, but since I had DD gravity really took over

I usually wear two pieces (sometimes with a coverup). My body shape is a little unusual and one pieces don't fit me well.

Tankini all the way for me. My "girls" are monstrous but I was able to find a Lands End top that held them up really well and no under-wire. Think "I"...Whoa!
I have a much smaller bottom and I got a skirt that was fitted, so no floating up and it looks very hip. I love it. This is the second year I am wearing, but I will have to spring for a new one next year.

If you go into a Sears and sit at the computer they have there in the Land's End section, you can place your order and get free shipping. You can return anything to Sears. Also, make sure to check for coupons before you go.
http://www.retailmenot.com/view/landsend.com There is one on there for $10 off $50 and free shipping, so you could just order from home. :)

You might want to try that Valletta suit I mentioned. Underwire and a high back, and comes in tank and tankini versions. Also, it's oddly inexpensive (not cheap, mind you, but normally you pay a fortune for support. This suit is about $70 list, and LE has been doing a lot of swim sales lately.)

Am I the only one who never realized that one-piece suits were "out"? I always just thought there were three basic styles to choose from (bikini, one-piece, and now tankini), and that people just picked what they liked or looked best on them. I never realized that any particular type was more or less in fashion than the others :confused3. There always seem to be all three types when I go looking.

1 pieces have been big for the past few years here. you can get some really cute ones. i'm sticking with my bikini though, because my top is 3 sizes bigger than the pants.

One-pieces are my favorite. To me they're just the most comfortable option. It's great that they've come back into style. It used to be so hard to find a cute one, now there are so many options I have trouble picking.

:rotfl2: Me too and I hate bathing suits! Shopping for one is one of the most stressful expeditions that I go on. I finally broke down last year and bought new ones but it took me hours and hours.

Nope. I guess I was fahion forward and never even knew it :lmao:
