just wondering how everyone bathes their infants while at wdw. sorry but i'm not putting her in a hotel tub or sink. i guess i'm picky. that's what dh says anyway. lol. should i buy one of those blow up tubs that fit in the big tub? we have a fold up baby tub,but i don't want to bring that one. takes up too much room.

We always used the Snugtub at home as the regular bath was much too large. It is a blow up babybath that Babies R Us sells. While I've never traveled with babies that young, that is what I would use if I did. :D

I had the blow up type tub that I used for all three of my girls - it was so convenient and easy to use. We never traveled much when they were infants, but I think the blow up tub would be easy to travel with. It shouldn't take up that much space.

I understand not wanting to use the hotel sink or tub, but how about carrying some Clorox Wipes with you? Wipe down and rinse the tub or sink before you use it. THat way YOU know it is clean and disinfected.

Also, a friend of mine bathed her then 8-month-old in an ice chest because all they had in their room was a concrete shower stall!

we will be taking our baby in December, we are staying off-site in a villa, but will still be in a 'strange' house. I expect we will bath the baby in the sink, or she will come in the tub with me. I don't see why it's a big deal?

To be honest, she/he probably won't be having too many baths anyway - at that age I don't think they really get dirty, so we will probably just have some sponge baths, and maybe do a proper bath once or twice each week.

We used the fold up tub when dd was 3-1/2 months old. This last time, we bought a bath sponge for her to sit on in the tub. It worked great.
We found that we actually bathed her more in WDW than at home. It was a nice way to cool her down and relax her for bed. Plus, I wanted to wash off the sunscreen.

Hi.. we are taking our baby, she will be 6mo when we are in the world!
I picked up a sponge thingy.. it was a babies R us by the baby bathing stuff. It is a yellow sponge mat thing with an outline of a bear on it. It was cheap too ($5 or less, I think). I plan to put it in the tub with baby on it (sitting or laying) with a couple inches of water. It fit into the bottom of the suitcase, has no weight to it and squishes to pack. .. I will just leave it behind when we leave. I didn't get the blow up bathtub because I figured that she would have to be sitting by then to use it.

I also have a blow up travel pillow thing that wraps around an adult neck. I thought that if I had to, I could use it to elevate babies head.

Also, I see no problem with plopping her little behind in the sink or into the tub with me. Babies are easy when they are that little.

good luck!

We never bothered to bring along an infant tub on trips. DH or I just sat in the tub in just a couple of inches of water, and bathed DS in the grownup's lap. Works like a charm. (A hand-towel draped over your legs will keep the little one from slipping while you bathe him/her.) Do be sure to bring along little bottles of no-tears baby soap and shampoo.

You do want to make sure that you are not given a disability room when travelling with a little one; those rooms only have roll-in showers, no tubs.

You can also just shower with them. It helps to have one parent waiting just outside the shower so when you are done washing and rinsing, you just hand the infant out and finish your own shower.

I always showered with my girls when they were young babies. I even had a shower sling so I could wear them in the shower and not worry about slipping. The shower sling is also really really nice to have when going into a pool with a small baby. Here is a URL for one type of shower sling, but it isn't the one I have so I don't know how it is since all slings are different. http://thisbabyofmine.com/showersling.htm

Anytime we travelled and stayed in hotels or resorts with young babies- we did exactly as others said. Either baths like they described WITH US in our laps or showers very quickly with baby handing baby off to the other parent. :)

Another option that we've done is to fold a towel up into several layers and lay it on the bottom of the tub. Much softer than straight on the tub, and you don't have to bring anything with you. (At home we always used one of those sponges when our kids were babies.)

When our DS was an infant he always bathed with one of us. Both in the shower and the tub. He loved it and it was such a special time. We did make sure the other parents was around to help get him out as babies are very slick when wet!!! I remember as a child, my mom would never let us sit down in the tub at any hotel, no matter how nice or clean. That's not me and my son has sit in many of hotel tubs though I do remember putting towel in the bottem first a few times when he was quite young. I also agree that infants don't really need that many baths and sponge baths are just fine unless they have been in the pool and then it's a good idea to shower off the clorine at least.

In February, we took our (at that point) 7 month old daughter. She bathed in the tub with her daddy. My mom had already sprayed lysol over the entire hotel room (somewhat of a germ-a-phobe). We just put a towel down in the bottom of the tub so that she wouldn't slip around. We have some adorable pictures of her splashing around with her daddy (don't worry, he had a swimsuit on.... she was the only R-rated one).

My daughter was 6 months old when we first brought her to Disney World. We bathed her in the sink at AKL. I put a washcloth or a hand towel down first and she did fine.
