Ok, How do you all handle baths/showers while in WDW?

Do you give baths at night before bed? In the morning? After swimming?

Every day (for those under puberty, please) or every other?

We have 3 little ones (7, 4 and 3) and have never been to WDW in the summer! I'm just wondering what everyone else does about bathing the kids...

So, spill the beans...

Although my youngest is 9 and my oldest are 18(twins), we been going to disney since they were babies. I gave them there baths before dinner. In the am we would go to the parks & come back for pool time around 1pm. We'd stay ther for a while, then go up to the room for a rest. After they had there naps or whatever they did while I was resting we'd get ready for dinner. I then gave them there baths. I found it easier that way for me. Then in the morning if we didn't have very early ps's for breakfast they would go in the bath while I would get ready. I just made sure that I had my shower first so while they were bathing I would be blowing my hair & getting dressed. If we had early ps's(7:30am) I would make them skip there bath in the am. Now my youngest takes showers(YEA) & its much easier.

If we are out early in the am only dh and I shower then. If we do a pool break I have the girls bathe or shower after the swim. On days when we don't do the pool break the girls bathe or shower at night, and on a late morning they will shower in the morning.

Ok - vague enough for you, sorry I guess I should have said it depends on our schedule. We do try and alternate late nights with late mornings anyway. My girls are 6 & 8 now, when they were little I would often do a quick bath before bed if they were really wound up from the day. This took a bit more time but they settled into sleep quicker so it was worth it !!
Have Fun

DH & I both shower in the mornings. After our midday pool break we shower again and the kids take their baths then.

I always like for my DS to get his bath at night after being in the parks all day. A fresh bath just seemed to relax him for bed and I liked the idea of getting all the park germs off at night.I have learned however that it's best to get them their baths as soon as you get back to the room for the night or they will fall asleep before they get thier baths.

My kids are 5 and 2, and they get their baths in the afternoon after their pool time. This way, they're clean for dinner (we always eat at a sitdown for dinner) and if (especially DS 2) falls asleep, we don't have to wake them up when we get back to the room for a bath. Now, that would be a recipe for DISASTER!! We don't stay out late, usually only one night until 10:00 to see FITS. THis way, they're clean for bedtime, and we don't have to rush in the AM.

We were at WDW in May and it was hot!! DD (3 1/2) got a bath each night when we knew we would be staying put inside at the resort. After a day in the parks and/or just playing she was a stinky child;) A few times she baulked about needing one since she'd been in the pool so I let her wear her suit in the tub. She thought this was great fun and it saved me from having to also wash it after I washed her;)

My 4 y/o gets a bath every day whether we are at WDW or not. If she uses the pool during the day then she gets her bath when she gets out of the pool instead of later on in the evening. If I know we are going to be out too late for her to take a bath then I give her a bath before we leave for the evening. If she does get sweaty or dirty during the evening I give her a second bath when we return! All of those park germs make me nervous anyway so you can never have too many baths!:D

We were at Disney last August ... so we were sweaty by the end of the day ... okay we were sweaty by 10AM, LOL!!!

Anyhow, we bathed the grandskids (7 and 5½) every evening and my daughter and I bought got showers every night ... I like going to bed clean.

My grandson also liked to take a swim break every afternoon and I give him a quick shower after swimming to wash the clorine (sp?) off him.

I have two boys 6 and 2 (will turn 3 the 20th:teeth: ) . I give them their baths/showers at night. I like them clean and relaxed before bedtime. Hubby and I usually take showers at night and then again in the morning. I find it too time consuming for me to give the kids baths/showers in the morning as we want to hurry up and hit the parks early. So they usually get to sleep in a little in the morning while I take a shower, put on the make-up, and blow dry my hair.

My kids only get a bath once or twice a week at home (unless they've gotten scummy - so its more in the summer when they are outside and find dirt, and once or twice a week in the winter when they spend most of their time inside.)

Winters in Minnesota, dry skin with excema, and lots of baths don't mix.

So at Disney we stay for a week. They get a bath the night before we leave home. Another one two or three days into the trip and another before we leave Disney. Unless there is some reason to bathe them more frequently (they get dirty or stinky somehow). We haven't traveled when its been hot enough that we've wanted to wash a layer of sweat off them each night. I'd imagine a summer trip would involve a daily rinse, and I would do mine at bedtime.

We go to Disney World during Thanksgiving week- so heat is not an issue- generally. My kids will be 4 and 2 this trip- they were 2 and 6 months last. It just depends. If they sit down in somthing yucky, they definitely get a bath. If they are awake enough when we get to the room, they get a bath. We arrive at the parks for EE and generally leave at closing, so they are usually pretty sleepy or asleep when we reach the room. Unless they are unusually dirty, they may skip a night when at DW- again, heat is not a factor when we go. I'd imagine in the summer I would give a bath every night.
I take a shower at night and DH in the morning- this is what we do at home anyway. If the kids get baths, it is at night. I do give them a bath at least every other night while there, possibly every night. Again, it depends on our schedule and the amount of 'dirtiness'!

I prefer to shower in the morning. I am always up first. My 2 DDs and I have long hair and it is hard work having to wash condition and dry our hair and also very time consuming. Usually I would bath the girls in the morning, and wash their hair every other day, unless they had an evening swim, then I would wash their hair and bath them at bedtime. They are just too tired after a day in the parks:D
They should invent a car wash for kids;)

My Dh and I get up soooo early (5am or so) so we take showers then. My DS gets his shower right after the pool break. This is easiest with kids. You want to get all of that chlorine/sunblock off.
Then we head out to the parks for dinner. Dh and I also take one after the pool (that is the 2nd one for us). At night I try to keep things very low key so that DS doesn't get stirred up. We usually get right into PJ's and get in bed with the TV on low. I ALWAYS make sure to wash DS's hands and face well and brush his teeth before bed. Sometimes, I just take a washcloth and sponge him off before putting on his pj's.

DH and I shower in the morning, and after swimming if we like. I usually clean the kids (9 and 5) after swimming. It's hard enough getting my group moving in the morning... When we are on vacation I don't worry too much about the bath schedule -- the kids are too little to get stinky. This summer, though, that may have to change. With all the mosquito problems I plan to spray them daily with repellant, and from what I have read, that stuff should be washed off at the end of the day.

I've only had a child at WDW for one trip. It wasn't really hot then so she wasn't real sweaty. We tended to tour EE morning until closing at night.

Getting her into the bath wasn't an option in the morning since we were trying to get moving early. We gave her a bath or shower at night, but not every night due to schedules and her being tired. It was probably every other night -- with a couple nights in a row thrown in.
