Bath & Body Works discontinued Jelly Jars?!?!

Jelly Jars are discontinued? Did this happen at B & BW's everywhere? Or just mine?

I love Jelly Jars. I keep one in each of our bathrooms all the time. I liked to give them wrapped up in fancy bags as Christmas gifts.

But this Saturday at the B & BW in Paramus Park, there were none to be found. I asked a couple of salespeople where they were. One of them clearly never even heard of them; the other sales clerk was a bit more sympathic.

Why do stores do stupid things like this? I bought at least 8 of them every December for the past 3 or 4 years.

Janice, B&BW needs to think about their consumers. A couple of years ago, I got the cutest snowman containers with body wash and lotion. They discontinued them. Then last year I got the best smelling body wash & lotion for the holidays. Guess what? THey don't have them this year! Their "holiday" stuff isn't even in special bottles like they have in the past! I love the stuff, but am really disappointed with the selections and changes.

I just saw those at three B&BW near me.. one on Friday, and two last week.

Cindy, the things I'm talking about looked like tiny Mason jars with lace covers. After you get them home, you take out the middle of the cover and reseal them with just the lace on top.

I'm wondering. Does B & BW have a website to order from?

Hmm.. I've seen something simliar but the bases are wider and the tops aren't lace, but metal with holes in them (a lacey type pattern)

They do have a website, it just became operational last month.

B&BW has really started to irk me. Like Annie&Hallie'sMom I've found products I really liked only to have them discontinue them on me. Hair stuff, body powders, makeup, scents ... seriously, I've stopped buying things there because I'm sick of them discontinuing things!!

Janice, I can look at the B&BW near me (I'm going shopping there Wednesday) and let you know if I see any jelly jars. I hate when they discontinue something I like, one of my biggest problems of shopping at that store.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who gets annoyed with Bath and Body Works. I used to love the antibacterial sprays, and they discontinued those. Also, they don't have nearly as many nice holiday things as they used to. I hardly ever shop there anymore.

F.y.i., Cindy and Snoopy, Cucumber Melon and Warm Vanilla Sugar are my favorite Jelly Jar scents. The past few years, they would put them on sale where if you bought 3, you got one free. I would buy 8, and keep 3 or 4 for myself.

On the bright side, Yankee Candle had nice things. I got a big bag of potpourri in Mistletoe scent that is so pretty. I'm planning to buy a nice bowl at a warehouse sale and give my sister-in-law the potpourri in the bowl with some votives and a votive holder.

I used to love shopping at Bath and Body Works but I don't shop there anymore because it seems that everything I like has been discontinuted. Shampoo, fressia scented products and they used to have some foot spray and antibacterial products.

A clerk did give a paper to me with an 800 number to order a limited selection of products that were discontinued in the store. I'll see if I still have it and post the telephone number and products that can be ordered. Hopefully I can find it!

I know the jelly jars you are talking about. They had a big sale on them over the summer and I picked up a couple to give as gifts, it was buy one, get one free....they only had Cotton Blossom and a Coconut scented one left.

Change is good....but B&BW changes too often!

I used to love Bamboo Pineapple, Lavendar Fields and Orchid Flowers....all discontinued!

Those jelly jars are super easy and inexpensive to make yourself.
Try this:

2 cups liquid potpouri
4 packs Knox gelatin (plain gelatin)
Heat 1 cup of potpouri to a boil (use an old pot). Stir in Knox until dissolved. Add the other cup of room temp. potpouri. Stir and pour into jelly jars, decorative bowls and cover with plastic wrap. Put in fridge until set. You can decorate the lids with lace or ribbon for gifts. (same idea as the Bath & Body works jelly jar scents)
Here is how you can cut it down:
2 cups potpouri & 4 pks Knox make: 16 oz or 1 pint
1 cup potpouri & 2 pks Knox make: 8 oz or 1/2 pint
1/2 cup potpouri & 1 pk Knox make: 4 oz or 1/4 pint
Just remember to half the liquid and boil half just like making jello. You can use all kinds of jars too. Baby food jars are great.

yes jelly jars are going bye bye. I got lucky and found some at a lkarger store and STOCKED UP!!!. I tottally agree you find something you like at B&Bw be prepared for them to d/c it. i wrote a commet to headquarters here in new albany we'll see if i get a response.

I agree. I always bought a couple of Hazelmut jelly jars for my bathroom. They smelled so wonderful.

Of course, I nearly wept in public when I found out they discontinued Fresh Ginger Lime. I am guarding what little stash I have left with my life.

I was upset with them too when I heard, I love the jelly jars. I put them on my Christmas list to MIL and she called to tell me they were discontinued....what a bummer.
