I don't know if this was previously posted, but just wanted to share that B&BW is having one of their big sales right now and I got the pocket sized hand gels for 37 cents. Just wanted to pass it on because this would be a good FE gift or party favor.

It's semi-annual sale time. (I used to work there.) It starts the day after Christmas and goes into mid-January. They have another one in June. I'm not sure of the exact start and end dates of that one, but if you sign up for the emails, you'll get the notice of the sales.

Not every store has the same thing, but you can get some really good deals. It's a very popular sale too.

I was told at my store in PA today when I was buying the hand gels that the sale ends on Sunday.

I just need to whine. I saw the Big Sale posted on another forum last night and was excited because I got a gift card for Christmas (so I wasn't breaking any of my budget rules for this month:rotfl:). Picked out everything I wanted, a few items for me, and a bunch of stuff for dd's Easter basket.
Got to the check out and used a coupon to save another 20% (check retailmenot... there are several active B&BW coupon codes that work with this sale.)
Got a ton of stuff for 24 and change! And then... shipping to Canada was 20.00:rolleyes1
We have B&BW here now so I assumed it would ship from Canada too. NOPE.

So the moral of the story is, I need to drive 45 minutes to the closest store.. but you guys can save even more with some of the retailmenot coupon codes so make sure to look there first:thumbsup2

I have never been to their sale before. I spent about $275 buying gifts for my staff for next year. (I have to buy for about 60 people) I was pretty happy.

I then picked up a couple of soap gel and lotion sets, for those gifts you sometimes need during the year.

DD recommended a lotion that is normally $20 per tube and I got some for $5. (I have very dry skin)

Prettty happy with my haul!

I was thinking of going to BBW this week to pick up some candles. I've never purchased candles there before so I have a couple of questions that I hope someone can answer.

I had a Yankee Candle jar candle. It was GREAT. It seemed to last forever and the scent would fill my entire apartment. Loved it!!! Once it ran out, I bought a "no-name brand" candle. I lit it Sunday morning and it was almost completely melted by the afternoon!! :confused3 Do the candles from BBW last? Is the scent enough to fill an apartment (but not overwhelm)? I'm looking for scents like Cinnamon, Vanilla, etc

Thanks!

I used to be a strictly Yankee Candle girl (my mom too). I started buying the 3 wick candles from B&BW when they were offering 2 for $20 (normally $19.50 each) and probably won't go back unless I get a great deal on some YC. We bought one this year I LOVE- it was something like apple toddy- smelled like apple/cinnamon. I swear by their candles now- and at the sale (this weekend) I bought a few holiday ones for $8. They burn cleaner because they don't have that rounded top as well.

Yankee Candle all the way for me - no smoke so clean burning. I tried a "cheapie" one once too. BBW candles are good, but not as good as YK to me - just MHO. They're on sale too!

Once you try a Slatkin & Co candle (the ones sold at BBW), you won't ever go back to Yankee. :)

They burn clean and evenly (you'll end up with an empty jar, not a hole burned down the middle, like YC does and no sooty walls/ceilings) and the scents are wonderful. :)

I will never buy another Yankee Candle. Every Yankee I have ever had has burned where it burns in the middle only and then the sides of the candle eventually cave in. And I can't tell you how many times that wicks have disappeared...probably from this caving in issue.

The BBW (Slatkin & Co.) candles burn even and clean. They liquify in the jar and you can burn them down to absolutely nothing, so you get to use the ENTIRE candle, truly getting your money's worth.

And the scents!!! I swear I can never smell the Yankee Candles once I start burning them, but with the BBW ones, the scents are amazing and fill my entire apartment.

Before Christmas, one of my coworkers had Yankee Candles on her Secret Santa wishlist. I brought her in a BBW candle and she immediately changed her wishlist and said she will never buy Yankee again. Said even her BF commented on how great the candles were and that is so unlike him.

I've been a long-time, die-hard fan of Yankee but Slatkins are really taking over my house now. They are cheaper, most are quite stronger, and they have almost the variety of scents that Yankee offers. My favorites are Winter (on sale for $8 right now!), Pumpkin Caramel Latte, Autumn Apple, and Peach Bellini. I also like the Bahama Fizz they just put out for spring.
