So there is a BBWs Outlet about 45 minutes from where I live and I am assuming since it was an "outlet" the prices should be a bit cheaper, wrong! Called to see if they have the Heirloom Apple candles and they did and the price was the same exact $24.50 as in the mall stores. Now I will never pay that much for these candles, always wait till they are on sale, coupon, plus a discounted gift card, but there is no difference in price here. What a joke, outlet my foot.

It does happen unfortunately. We visited the Gurnee Mills Outlet Mall recently here in Illinois and while there are quite a few true outlet locations, we also found that some of the stores had normal prices items in the front and an outlet section in the back. The Disney Store there was one of them.

What I found with some outlets locations, is their promotions are better, so the more you buy the lower the cost per item... since Bath and Body has add coconut to most of their formulas, and me being allergic to coconut, I don't go in any more. But before when I could go in, they would have buy 5 for 25, or 8 for 35, or whatever the promotion was... I'm waiting for Yankee Candle at the outlet to have 5 for 50 on the jars... I also check out the price point on the sets, last year I got the set of 3 small jars of Christmas scents for 5 bucks each... which was pretty good, They even had some other sets for 3 dollars on some of the spring and mothers day scents.... Which I broke up and used as to add a little something extra to gifts during the year.

My bbw outlet usually has the whole middle section full of bins that are super cheap - $1/$2/$5, etc. But in general, most 'outlet' stores aren't true outlets anymore. I have two malls right next to each other that I rarely shop at because they're either just full price stores in an outlet mall, or they only sell stuff made for the outlet. The now closed Disney outlet was one of the few true outlet stores there :(

When this mall first opened, I think it was truly "outlet". It wasn't long and that trend evolved to the now MACY's and KOHL's as anchor stores.
