Does anyone have a stroller system that includes a bassinet, seat and car seat?
If you do have the system would you please share the brand and a review? There are several brands and I'd like some direction. Thank-you.
I'm going to post this on the Community Board as well since it seems to get a lot of traffic.

As a shower gift, I received the Peg Perego Switch Four which included both a bassinet and infant car seat along with the stroller. It was a fantastic unit and one that I utilized so many times that I can't count. The bassinet worked very well when DD was brand new until 9 months and the car seat from brand new until 12 months. The stroller, we still use. The price tag though is something to faint over (keep in mind, it wasn't on my registry. I would never expect someone to gift a $1,200 item!).

Thanks! My husband and I will be the grandparents and are thinking of giving it to our daughter for her shower. Most of them are $$$$. I looked at a Silver Cross pram- no stroller or anything else - and it was $4000 so I kept looking.:lmao:

$4,000 is exteme considering how long they're able to use the bassinet and infant seat. Definitely look into Peg Perego - it was awesome for us! :)

I thought so too.
After reading your post, I looked at both the Peg Perego website and Googled reviews. The reviewers really liked it as much as you do. When my daughter comes over tomorrow, I'll show it to her.
Thanks again

I don't have one personally but Graco just came out with a system like that. I was just looking at strollers on their site today. Its called modes click connect stroller. I don't think the new click connect car seat comes with it. They also have a new three modular stroller.

Thank-you for the information! I'm off to look into Graco as well.

I think it would be better if you gave the parents to be a budget for the stroller and let them pick something out. One thing I have learned about strollers is that everyone has different wants/needs.
Also it might be better to purchase a car seat separately and not as part of a travel system. I always checked consumer reports when buying a car seat. I think at the time I bought my first car seat the highest ranked carseats were not part of a stroller system.

That's what I'm going to do. My daughter asked me to weed through though because she's been really busy. She knows she doesn't like the Orbit Baby.
Thanks for the advice.

I'd get a separate car seat and pram/stroller, too. Chances are, if she's interested in the pram (maybe with a good ring or other sling or wrap) she'll never take the car seat out if the car. I used my car seat as a carrier from car to house once and in a restaurant twice! That's it.

My pram/stroller was a Bertini but they're not being made anymore. It was heavy and big to fold but not more so than many travel systems. I was super easy to push/steer with all terrain tires and a good brake/steer/neutral foot lever. I think baby looked comfy being able to stretch out in the bassinet and we were able to do a vacation without a pack n play, etc because we had a bassinet! Even as a toddler/preschooler, our seat folded flat and was nice for naps- the seat frame was solid.

As far as car seats- when I was a tech I loved the keyfit and the graco seats. Very easy. I had a hand me down Peg and it was too narrow for my chunky kid by 3 months. But then, my kid was in a Britax convertible in my car from the week she was born on up... Says something for her size, lol. Check out car-seat.org for ideas!

The other carriage I had seriously looked at was the bumbleride queen b. my choice was made by the easy availability of the Bertini secondhand. The queen b was/is a bit prettier with more colors. Same type of frame and features. I just checked and it's still on the market. (Just seeing it makes me want another baby, lol)

I was afraid this style was gone on favor of the bugaboo types- the bassinet on those is smaller and the seat much smaller. Bit if you've ever tries to maneuver a large pram down subway stairs, you know why the bugs became so popular! (That's where my MacLaren came in)

I also like to see the stroller first hand. That way I can play with it. Fold, un fold, lift it, push it around, etc etc. I was glad I did cause I fell in love with the kolcraft contuors double but man when I played around and found out one seat had to be removed to fold it. No way I was not dealing with that.

I agree about the car seats. I like gracos new click connect but really its not worth it. It might get a child to rear face up to 2 yrs but the child would out grow it height wise before the weight. So I would have to still buy another seat to rear face til 40lbs. Thought I could skip a step if it went to a higher height.

Hands down... Uppa vista!

Has stroller seat, bassinet seat included. They sell the clips/brackets to use all major infant seat brands.

The uppa vista also has the ability to become a double stroller (second seat sold separate, also sell a "glider" board for older sibling to stand and ride in). Really off sets cost when you plan on a growing family. Most low end brand doubles cost $200
