I'm thinking about ordering a couple of gift baskets for my DS(3) and DD(3) for our cruise 9/9/07, but The Perfect Gift website is kind of vague about what's available. Do any of you DISers have any ideas that worked well for your kids?

You took the question right out of my typing fingers! Looking forward to responses for DS (8) and DS (6). Thanks!

I heard that the Pirate and Princess baskets were really cute. There are some pics somewhere on here, maybe do a search for pics of Shirley's baskets. You've got to see them. I ordered my DD4 for our cruise in September!

I want to see pirate baskets. :yay: :yay: Does anyone have the link or have the pictures to display. Please!!!!:yay:

Hello Catman - our website is very small compared to all that we do offer - there just isn't enough room since we not only do children's baskets, but teens, adults in other words, we can lead you in the right direction as to the likes and dislikes of those getting the gift baskets - we call them "gift baskets" but the container is anything but.
The best thing to do is call the shop and we can help you work through selections of what they must have and can not stand stuff.
the pirate chest is full of pirate stuff such as skull caps, necklace, skull rings, telescope, kaliscope, maps, gems, chocolate coins, glow necklace, snacks and movie candies, tatoos and this is just to name a few things.
The sandpails comes with all types of sand molds, sand toys, snacks, drinks
tatoos - we also will work within your budget especially if you are doing a short cruise.
Anyhow I hope this will help some and hope someone can find their pictures and post them to give you a better idea.
Always
Shirley

Shirley and her team are great about customizing your baskets. When my sister ordered my birthday basket, there were snack size bags of Cheetos (my favorite treat) and some sugar free diet root beer...both things I couldn't get on the ship!

Here's a picture of my son with his basket a week ago. It's the medium sand bucket.

Great Basket what was the total cost to have that done and delivered? Do you have a general thought of what was in it? Thanks :cool1:

With all the delivery charges (mostly on DCL's end) it came to around $50. It was full of all kind of things. Beach toys (shovels, sand molds, pails) lots of snacks (I asked for no juice bags, DS doesn't drink them), pirate klaidiscope, tattoo, eye patch, pirate gold bubble gum, just to name a few items. We have ordered a basket from Shirley every time we've cruised and have never been disappointed. We always get items for the beach and usually just leave them behind so we don't have to take them on the plane. This time however, his name was written on the pail so he insisted that we bring the stuff home.

There are sand pail kits available for purchase on Castaway Cay but they are much smaller and still cost $18.00, these baskets are much, much nicer!

Shirley - thanks for another great basket!!!

I'm interested in the cost as well and would like to see pictures of the princess baskets. Does anyone have one?

I don't have a picture of the Princess Basket, but I can tell you it's nicer than anything you can imagine. I got one for my granddaughter a year ago when she was 3 1/2 yrs old. She still talks about it. The price was around $45. - $50.00 and worth every penny of it. I called Shirley on the phone and we went over all the different things she could put in it. There was princess coloring books, crayons, stickers, cups, different snacks, & lots of sand toys (I requested the sand toys since I didn't want to take up room in my suitcase bringing them with me). Everything was in a bucket and there were three princess / Tinkerbell mylar balloons attached to it. I told Shirley that Tinkerbell was my granddaughter's favorite character so there was Tinkerbell things as well as the princess things. I had the card say the basket came from Tinkerbell and it was the highlight of the cruise for my granddaughter. We will be doing the Disney Cruise again next year :cheer2: and I will definitely be getting my granddaughter another basket from Shirley.

Thanks you for posting the details on these baskets. I have really been thinking a about ordering one for my DS and the website does not do them justice. Now I am convinced!

I love this board!

The real question is, what will we do next year when the magic is on the west coast and we want a great basket

The real question is, what will we do next year when the magic is on the west coast and we want a great basket

I remember so well the first year the Magic went to the West coast and I worked for months and months trying to find someone to get involved and fix baskets and I was willing to give them my ideas and my prices or they could come up with their own and my ideas were for free and noone and I mean noone would do it for what I was asking them to do and THEN they were going to charge the DCL charge PLUS $10.00 extra so I said to heck with it and gave up. Maybe this time around those I spoke to will rethink their ideas of getting rich in 3 months - heck I have been in this business so darn long but I am not even thisclose of ever getting "rich" but I am sure grateful cause I am sure richer in other more important ways that count and that is having such great friends.

Do yourself a favor...call Shirley or anyone at The Perfect Gift - they will assist you in making a basket/pail/bag filled with great stuff...it will create more excitement than you can imagine when your family opens their cabin door.

If the millions are measured by kindnesses she has done and people she has befriended - then Shirley is rich beyond measure. The only reason she doesn't have a heart of gold is that gold is pretty cold and there's nothing cold about Shirley's warm and loving heart. Just ask some of the folks who have called her with an emergency on their trip. For the newbies, Shirley usually gives out her cell phone when there's heavy weather headed toward PC in case anyone needs a local contact.

When DD got a promotion on the ship, Shirley customized a "basket" made out of plastic shoe boxes with goodies and a pillow I sent for her. DD wouldn't have had room to store a true basket but the shoe boxes came in handy. This lady is a wealth of creativity and class.

Hello CMMom,
I saw the "in memory of" and remember that this month will be 3 years since emmasgrammy lost her children to the fire (well Sophie made it to Sept).
I have tried to make contact with Lynda and Mike, but so far haven't heard back. Thanks for keeping the memory for we all could have been in their places.
