My doctor just ordered me a mobility scooter to help me manage my mobility. It has a basket on the front and the back of the scooter. Will Disney allow me to bring the scooter into the parks with baskets on it? They are attached to the scooter but can be disconnected if need be. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Rob

The basket on the back may make the scooter too big. It must fit within the 30x48 dimensions to be used on transportation and in queues.

Enjoy your vacation!

The front basket should be fine. I get an off-site rental scooter to use when I'm at WDW and once I got one with the rear basket and ended up taking it off. It made the scooter too long to fit well in the room and just felt like the scooter was too long overall. I didn't try getting on the bus with it but I have a feeling they wouldn't allow the rear basket.

Mine has the front basket - no problems at WDW -in fact - I decorate my ECV basket! - I agree - the rear basket may make it too long for transportation.

Thank you for all the information guys! Another question I have is about park entrances. Do they have a separate entrance for wheelchairs and mobility scooters?

My friend puts a back pack on the back of her ECV. as the front basic is only big enough for 3 water bottles and something small. She is able to walk but just not all day at Disney and the back pack makes it easy to take off quickly and it dose not get in the way on the buss or in the parks.

My mom has always had a back basket on her scooter and we have traveled to the parks many times with it. if it a smaller scooter (ie a go go type) it is just fine and fits in our room as well as on the bus.

I had the front a back basket on my scooter when I went with a broken ankle last year and had no problems. Getting into the park was easy and if I ever had a question about where to go, how a ride would load ext. a cast member would point me in the right direction!

for got to note if you want to do this try to get a backpack with a chest strap ( the one the buckle at the chest, I hope this mad since) as the pack pack might fall off and with this it stays on better, ( or get some ribbon and tie it on, where the chest strap would be)
