From my early, preliminary research, only Bay Lake Tower and Animal Kingdom seem to sleep five in a one bedroom?

Is that correct?

What do families of 5 typically do? Pay more points for a two bedroom? Or choose to stay at AKV and BLT?

Thanks!

Yes, BLT and AKV do sleep 5 in their one bedrooms as they have a sleeper chair in their living rooms.

And, before this, most did get the 2 bedrooms. I have read that they do allow 5 in the 1 bedrooms at the other resorts, but they don't provide any bedding or towels for those people. You would have to bring an aerobed or something.

Good luck!

We will basically stick to 1 bdrm at Akv. We may add on as the kids get older if we need more space, but for now 1 bdrm will be fine. At least I hope, as we are just buying in now!

Everyone's different. I suspect most would go with the smaller unit when the kids are younger and move to the larger unit as the kids hit late preteen. It will depend in large part of the family and makeup.

Villas at Grand Californian also allow 5 in a 1 BR

After the refurbishment at OKW is completed, they will be add the sleeper chair also. The drawback is there will still only be 1 bathroom, but the OKW 1 beds are huge! We had a dinner party for 11 in 1 and it was too cold to use the patio and we were all still very comfortable:thumbsup2
