Basic food at dinner

You can order almost any basic fare. We had a lady at our table on the Wonder that loved shrimp and chicken strips/nuggets. So they brought those to her. They can bring anything that is served at Cabanas to the main restaurants as well. Our daughter one trip had Ceasar salad every meal and then a steak. No problem at all. Just ask and your servers will get it done!:thumbsup2

But please get to the restaurants for dinner. They are part of the experience no matter what you eat:dance3:

Thanks for that link. You are right, a lot doesn't look...or well sound appealing.

Sounds like my SIL. She's a chicken fingers and french fries kind of girl! I, on the other hand, am least interested in Royal Palace, but the others look great! I am hoping to try caviar for the first time - no idea if I'll like it but I at least want to say I tried it.

IMO, everyone should experience caviar, escargot and anchovies one time, to form their own opinions. Remember though, that there are different types of caviar, so just because you don't like one type..... Now escargot are a different matter, picture a dirt flavored oyster!!!!!

I have tried escargot - NOT for me! Calamari, octopus, squid, raw fish sushi - also tried and rejected. Haven't tried anchovies. I'm on the fence about conch. I liked the conch fritter I tried, but I can't get over the fact that it's basically a giant sea snail. I'll try anything once, unless it has bones it in. Bones creep me out. I'd rather not be reminded that my food used to walk around.

Another hooray for basic food meals:cool1:
Can someone post a kids' menu, or tell about items they remember on the kids' menu? THANKS!

I've got pics of two kids menus, one from Enchanted Garden, one from Animator's:

This I totally agree with. On our last cruise, we had 2 rules. Our kids could not order things like chicken tenders with dinner, and they had to try one new taste each day. Does not mean they had to like it, but they had to try it. DH and I adore escargot, so both of our kids tried it. DD (11) hated it, but DS (9) loved it.

They have "plain" (but very good) roasted chicken every night.

They also typically how some type of beef/steak every night and you can order it plain - no sauce. My daughter does that. and she always trades out the side for just french fries.

Just ask. You can switch the sides from other entrees with no problem.

Looks like I'll be ordering from the kids menus!:rotfl:

When we went on the Wonder, I always ordered from the "Lighter Fare" section that included roasted chicken and baked potato, which was very good! That's what I ordered for dinner for all 3 nights.

Thank you OP for posting this. My wife and I are willing to try new things but were a bit put off by all of the "fancy" food we saw on the menus. Futhermore neither of us eats sea food. We did not want to miss out on eating at some of these great looking resturants. Seeing this thread has put me at ease that we will be able to find something good to eat at dinner.

On our wonder cruise this past December it just listed that you could have chicken or steak. It was not written out like you see the descriptions for the other items. I am sure that you could get any of the sides that they have.

Please go to dinner!!! The servers will work with you to find something that you like. Ask for sauce on the side, plain veggies or fries. Make it something that you want on vacation!!!

December of 2009 my son only wanted grilled cheese and grapes for every meal! They made it happen. They even went and cooked him one for breakfast on the last morning....couldn't get the stinker to eat anything else!

Does anyone have a copy of these other 3 basic menus that can be posted?

I'm a rather "plain" eater myself, while my husband is more apt to try new things. I've sailed twice on the Wonder and have enjoyed the food in the dining rooms. I've even tried a few new things!
