Basic Fastpass Questions

I've been reading through some of the info on Fastpass here and have a couple of questions.

1. Where are the Fastpass machines located? Where is the WOC one?

2. Is it still true that they are open ended- they have a set time after which you can use them but if you want you can use them anytime after that during that day?

3. Can you still take the tickets from your family while they are in DL and go get fast passes in DCA?

4. Could you have more than one outstanding Fastpass for the same ride? (If you got one earlier then one after the time to use the first one or the two hour window)

Thanks!

1) Machines are by the attractions. WOC is at Grizzly River Run.

2) No longer open ended. End times are enforced.

3) Yes, you can take tickets to get FPs in the other park. They just need to be used to enter one park or the other.

4) Yes. You can get another FP when a) your window has opened or b) 2 hours have passed. If that 2 hour time limit comes before your window opens, you can have more than 1 at a time. Additionally WOC is disconnected. Buzz used to be, but not sure if that's still the case.

There is a rumor that this system will undergo some changes this year. No way to know how long this info will be accurate or what those specific changes will be.

True, but with the two hour rule you can't get another fastpass for the same ride. Say you get a fastpass for Grizzly River Run at 3 PM and it's not good until 7 PM. At 5 PM, you can get another fastpass for a DCA ride but not for Grizzly.

Also, the two parks aren't connected. You can for example go into DL and grab a fastpass for any ride and then hop over to DCA and grab a fastpass for any ride there even if your DL fastpass return time hasn't come yet.

FP must be used within the window on the ticket.

My understanding is that NO you can not have more than one for the SAME RIDE at the same time, expect if you get the second one after the first one is valid to use. Say you get RSR for 11:10 - 12:10, you could get a second one at 11:11 (if available).

I believe that is correct. For instance, if you pull a RSR FP at 10:00AM with a return time of 1:00-2:00PM, you can pull another FP for a different ride at 12:00PM (after 2 hours), but you cannot pull another FP for RSR until 1:00 PM.

Most all of the FP machines are located near the attraction entrance or exit. There are a few that somewhat removed from their attraction. RSR is located near the entrance to It's A Bug's Life Theater/Bug's Life Land, which just past Carthay Circle. Star Tours is located across the walkway from the attraction, near the exit to Buzz Lightyear.

The answers to #2 and #4 are NO.
You have to return within the specified window on your FP. Late arrivals will not be honored anymore.
You cannot get a FP for the same ride until the return time for the original FP opens up....for example...If you get a RSR FP at 9:10 with a return time of 1:30, you cannot get another RSR FP until 1:30, but you can get one for another ride at 12:10.

This is correct. The two hour rule only applies to rides other than the ride for which you have a FP.

I find all the answers to this potentially confusing because the answer depends on how you ask the question. In this case is depends on what the OP means when she says "outstanding".

So here is how I would clarify it:

- You can have two valid, unused FPs for the same ride

- You cannot get a second FP for the same ride until the first FP window opens (as others here have made abundantly clear)

- During the one hour window of the first FP, you thus have two FPs for the same ride. The first FP must be used within its hour. The second FP can be obtained when the first window opens and it has its own return time.

- It is quite possible the windows for the two FPs can overlap for rides where the FP window is 40 minutes away from the time you obtained it. For example, obtain a BTMRR FP when DL opens at say 8:05AM. FP window is 8:45AM-9:45AM. Go back to BTMRR at 8:45AM and get a new FP with a window of 9:25AM-10:25AM. From 9:25AM until 9:45AM both FPs are valid for BTMRR.

- You cannot have two FPs for the same ride whose window has not opened. If the OP means by "outstanding" that one has two FPs where the windows for each one have not yet opened, the answer is NO. If the OP means by "outstanding" that one has two FPs which are valid and they have not been used, the answer is YES.

As of today, Buzz is still disconnected. Also, in case anyone's wondering - RSR gone for the day between 12:20 and 12:30 pm (Wednesday, May 11th).

One more question I just thought of- are the fast passes linked to a specific person's ticket? Like, if one of my kids is too short to ride, if I took a Fastpass for him could I use it? Can you give them to other people if you decide not to use them?

Ok and one more- can you choose your return time? If not, do you know the return time before you get the Fastpass?

You just pass in the Fastpass to the CM they have no way of knowing if you pulled it, your kid did, or if just a random stranger pulled it and gifted it to you. (FYI I you're a WDW regular even with the FP+ being connected to a magic band they don't care who uses them, you could use your son's MB to get through the FP+ line if he's too short or doesn't want to ride for example)

You don't get to chose your return time but they are clearly posted above the FP machines so you know what you'll get before you pull them. The official Disneyland app is also supposed to show current return times.

Worth adding, all guests must have entered the park to get a fast pass. No getting up early and grabbing passes for people who are still at the hotel for example, unless they enter the park and go back.

But you can send one person in the group over to the other park to get FP for your whole party? So, the group is in DL and one person can go over to DCA with everyone's tickets and get FP in DCA?
