Help! My husband wants to change our reservation 10/12-10/19 because he is afraid he will miss his NYY in the playoffs. We are doing the Western Magic and he is afraid if the Yanks go to the playoffs the ESPN lounge won't be able to get the fox network. I have had this week booked for a long time and my kids are out from school that week and it was perfect that it was a Western sailing that week as we already did the Eastern Magic 9/2000. I also have a secret porthole room. Does anyone know if the lounge will broadcast the playoff games? Or does anyone know how I can find out? I don't want to change my ressie. I told him I would go without him. Thanks for the help.

I'd say your DH has a legitimate concern. The ESPN SkyBox has a very poor record of living up to their claim of broadcasting sports programming. They didn't even have the World Series last year.

Thanks Dave. but it is not the news I wanted to hear.

We were not able to watch the baseball playoffs last October on board.
We are booked for 2 weeks this October. While we are both baseball fanatics, we will not schedule our vacation around the possibility of seeing our team in the playoffs. (Cleveland Indian's)

Hi Denine,
Unfortunate for me my DH is so confident Yankee's will make post season play he doesn't want to go on the cruise and miss the playoffs. I hope I can to talk him into missing it because there is no guarantee they(the Yank's) will make it. I can't see canceling my ressie for something that might happen. I priced the summer weeks and they are about double what we are paying and I don't want my kids to miss school in the fall. They are off 10/12-10/19. Meanwhile, If he decides not to go at the last minute I wonder if Disney will let me bring somebody in his place?

Just spoke to my DH and suggested he sign up for the week at the internet cafe. He already suscribes to MLB.COM where he can hear the games play by play. $89 is a small price to pay to keep my cruise booked.

On our Sept.-October 2000 cruise, we saw two Yankees-A's games, on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Our itinerary was
altered, starting with Key West on Sunday, so we were able to get the Puerto Rican FOX broadcast (game is in English, commercials in Spanish) on Tuesday night, as we sat off of St. Thomas, and Wednesday night, as we sailed away.

You may still get some of the games on TV. Good luck!

At least you don't have to change you cruise now. we will see you on the 10-12 cruise!

And don't worry, MO. As a Boston Red Sox fan you have given me even a better reason to root against the Yankees this season - so your dh will not be concerned about missing the Yankees in a playoff game!

Always willing to help! :D

Seriously, I do hope you cruise as scheduled and I hope ALL of you have a great time! :)

Heaven knows the Yankees will be in other playoff games, but your children will only be the age they are this year just once.

I agree that the internet package could be very useful for us sports obsessed (dh's).i hope the sky box can show ABC and ESPN NFL games, but i shall have to resort to the net for the England soccer teams games on 10/12 and 10/16. UK obssessed NFL fan,but i do enjoy watching the MLB playoffs.
