Big day for Bay Area baseball fans. Our beloved broadcaster, Lon Simmons, was inducted today. He did both Giants and A's games. I have many memories from my childhood, listening to Lon's voice on the radio!
Closer extrodinairre(sp?) Dennis Eckersley was inducted today also. They were showing the acceptance speeches at the ballpark beofre the A's game, but had to stop the broadcast just as Eck received his plaque for the live A's/Rangers game. I'll have to watch his speech later. Hey, he's still a cutie (& when he was on the A's he took his dog to the same vet that I take my cat to!)
