Base vs. Hopper

I was wondering if it was allowable to use up 2 days on your base ticket in just a single day. The reason being is that it would be considerably cheaper to get a 7 day base ticket than a 4 day hopper, and then when we wanted to go to another park, we could just use up another day on our pass. This would actually give us 3 hopping occurances during our stay. I hope I've made myself clear. Anybody???

:santa:

You cannot do this. The turnstyle will not let you in to the second park with the message "Crossover not permitted"

And this is exactly the reason you can't do it:)

A base ticket is one major (theme) park per day. You are allowed to re-enter the same park if you leave it on one day, but it can only be used at the one park.

Note that the ticket will state on it either "Not Valid For Park Hopping" or "One Theme Park Per Day". That should be a hint.

If you put the ticket in the turnstile of another park the display on the Guest side of the turnstile will be "ACCESS DENIED". The top line of the display on the Greeter side will give information about the ticket, and the second line of the display will say "CROSSOVER NOT PERMITTED". The turnstile will not unlock.

This is because Disney charges $3.00 per day over four days on an adult ticket, but charges $50 to allow hopping. It does not make economic sense for Disney to allow this.

If you actually have multiple tickets (more than one physical ticket per person) as opposed to multiple day tickets, you can use these tickets for multiple entries. But it makes absolutely no economic sense as a separate ticket costs a lot more than adding hopping to a ticket.

Disney has figured out every angle we can imagine..and even some that we can't. ;)

Oh well. Thanks for the info, anyway.

Let me reiterate that you can't do this.

Last August I was at Epcot when they had to call Orlando Police on a gentleman for this very reason. I was in line at the ticket booth when the man got out of control. evidentally his family was leaving 2 days earlier than intended and wanted to use the last 2 days of the tickets at another park. When the cm told him he could not do that he began beating on the glass partition, then he went around to the side and tried to kick in the door. :sad2:

The other visitors in line (myself included) quickly back up while the cm's inside were literally screaming. Some one started yelling at the guy, we're calling the cops, we're calling the cops and he turned and left.

Serious nut case.

It's odd that he'd get so bent...2 days on a park ticket= about $4!:confused3
