Base ticket to AP upgrade

I've read post #7 in CF's ticket thread. Still need clarification.

I'm curious about upgrading an base ticket to AP.

We are getting tickets for July 11 and 12. Haven't purchased yet. We will also be back July 25-Aug 1.

Will I need to purchase a 3 day ticket instead of the 2 day ticket we intend to buy to be able to upgrade on July 25, or would a completely used 2 day ticket be eligible for upgrade? Will July 25 still be within the 14 day time frame?

The 25th will be fine but not a 2 day ticket. Upgrade has to be done before end of day of last day used on the ticket.

July 11, 2015 is a Saturday. Tickets expire 14 days after first use which would be Friday, July 24 so no, it won't work even if you have a 3 day ticket. Also the AP will expire 1 year after you first use the original ticket so if you use the ticket on July 11 the AP will expire July 11, 2016, not one year after the day you upgrade so is there another reason you are waiting to upgrade?

Lol yeah I won't have enough money to pay for the full AP for 5 people until after the 20th. We live 8 hours away. OK then what's the latest Friday night that a guest relations window would be open?
