I just got off the phone with Disney and was told by the CM that I could purchase a 10 day base ticket for my 7 day trip and go to more than one park per day if I chose to do so, she said they would just use another day. So for my 7 day trip I could technically park hop on 3 days. I could swear that with a base ticket you can only go to 1 park per day period and I told her this. She said oh no you can go to as many parks per day as you want they will just use another day each time you go to a different park. Was she wrong?? :confused3

Sorry you were misinformed on the phone.

The phone CMs are notoriously wrong about many details about WDW.

You can not do this.

It is not possible, as the gate ticket readers will refuse your admission if you do not buy the "hopper" upgrade, and if you have visited another park earlier in the day.

Here's Cheshire Figment's everything about tickets-

quote:

A Base Ticket is one that will allow a particular guest access to one major theme park per day...

You are allowed to re-enter the same park if you leave it on one day, but it can only be used at the one park.

If you put the ticket in the turnstile of another park the display on the Guest side of the turnstile will be "ACCESS DENIED". The top line of the display on the Greeter side will give information about the ticket, and the second line of the display will say "CROSSOVER NOT PERMITTED". The turnstile will not unlock.

not to mention doesn't know the meaning of the word upsell.

Thanks for your help. I knew all of this but thought maybe it was possible that I had missed something somewhere along the line. Anyhow, thanks again for confirming.

she was DEAD WRONG!!!!! you are correct, a base ticket, w/out hopping, no matter how many days you have available is only good for ONE PARK per DAY!

Sorry, I need clarification. If you have 10 one day non-hopper tickets and want to use two tickets in the same day (use one at MK and one at Epcot) what prevents you from doing this? Granted, you have used 2 tickets in the same day, but if you were willing to waste a full day ticket on another park within the same day, why not? I'm a park hopper myself and have never purchased non-hopper tickets, but I don't see why using 2 tickets in the same day can't be done.

Unless you have made a disastrous mistake in ticket-buying...
you won't have 10, one-day non-hopper tickets.

You will have ONE ticket, with 10 "park days" on it.
Without buying the "hopper' Upgrade, you can not vist more than one park in the same day.
It is not allowed.

10, one-day MYW base tickets would cost you $756.20.

A 10-day MYW base ticket would cost you $239.63.

if you had 10 1 day tickets, you could. although that's an incredibly expensive option unless you obtained those tickets for free.

but the question here is 1 10 day ticket, which the system just won't allow.

the reason? MYW is modular. the previous ticket, the park hopper would be the equivalent of a MYW base ticket + park hopping + no expiration.

so a base ticket doesn't allow you to park hop any more than it will last forever once used.

But if you DO have 10 one day base tickets.. to be perfectly clear that is 10 separate tickets, each on it's own ... (approx value 720$ - roughly an annual pass and a half..) ... you could in theory use up to 4 of them in a day by visiting each of the four parks.

Terribly wasteful. But it could be done.

Much cheaper to buy park hopping at $50 than to waste a full day's ticket at $72.

Got it. So the OP was misinformed and the 10 day non-hopper MYW ticket is just that - 10 separate days not to be used in any other configuration. Thank you for clearing that up.

why? did one offer you the 25 acres of swamp land in florida option?

I believe the phone CMs call that by the Disney name, "River Country Camping Adventure."

(Soon to be RE-named "Mickey's River Country Camping Adventure.")

When you call Walt Disney World, unless you really know a direct number, you will get one of two offices.

The Disney Reservations Center (DRC) includes Walt Disney Travel Company (WDTC), Central Reservations Office (CRO), Disney Dining, and some other lesser known information lines. To the best of my knowledge the DRC locations are in the International Drive area, Tampa, Kansas City and Houston and Salt Lake City. There may be more. Some of the people working at the DRC call centers may never have been to either WDW or DL (or both).

The Main Switchboard (407-824-2222) is also where all calls to Disney Resorts go if you are dialing the phone number on the back of your reservations form. Also that is where calls go if you dial the Operator from your room, and possibly even calls to the Front Desk. The Main Switchboard people will, if asked, also identify themselves as Guest Services. They can put you through to any number on WDW.

At both DRC and MS they have access to a computer which has lots of Guest Information and it is very well organized. Actually, all CMs who have access to a terminal, or who even can access the "Cast Portal" from off-site, have access to this Guest Services information. I will often open an extra window when I am responding to people and go into the Portal for the latest official information.

The people at DRC and MS do not deal with upgrades, partially used tickets, or problems related to tickets. They do not know all the rules. The people at DRC can sell unused tickets; the people at MS don't deal with tickets at all.

The people who work in the ticket booths at the Parks or in Guest Relations at the Parks (and this includes TTC, the Water Parks, and GRO in DTD) deal with ticket upgrades and unusual problems on a daily basis. I would not say that someone you talked to on the phone lied to you, but just they were attempting to answer a question when they really did not have an answer.

lol.... I actually called Disney yesterday and asked which Rain Forest cafe location takes ADR's. The CM said "The Magic Kingdom location"

I find it to be really poor service on Disney's part that the some of the CM's people reach on the phone are so misinformed. There is really no excuse for it.
