Like I said...if you work with this population, then you should know better. I am the person who performs the cognitive and orientation evals on clients as they come in to the rehab center. My reports are the basis for such diagnosis.

Joe Biden has said some stupid stuff. I'll give you that. But, your "factual" statements are embellished to make your point. If you want to call him on his remarks, fine. But don't come in here and make statements against ignorance and then call him "Dementia Joe."

Your arguments hold no weight with anyone who works in the field and has half-way decent knowledge of this population. Thanks for playing though.

Of key importance for diagnosis isn't whether he makes gaffes, but does he live in them or not. True or false? I believe that Joe Biden lives in his. If that is a fact, what would be your diagnosis? Yes and that NEVER happens on the lib thread.

They never distort the conversations we have on our own thread to make it appear that we are hateful, just stewing in our own juices. What gets me a laugh is to look at how the liberal thread is quoted, then go and see what that poster meant and I'm thinking - "where the heck did they get that from" and vice versa. Of course, I do have a slight bias so I think it is more distorted on the lib thread (for some reason ).

Thank goodness I stay away from both those threads.
I am a registered Independant and I feel our President & our congress should work for what will serve our country (and our citizens) the best not the (whichever one --fill in the blank) party!

"Dubya" is self-inflicted. Perhaps GWB should have invested in a diction coach earlier in his political career, but I doubt it would have served his interests. He cultivated that "folksy" good old boy image carefully. He isn't a stupid man by any means, but he has no interest in being perceived as an intellectual man. A perfectly articulated Doubleyou isn't terribly Texan.

It's idiotic when adults make up names to refer to other adults in a negative way. It's idiotic and simple minded to refer to President-Elect Obama as even "Barack" if you don't know the man (further, his wife is Mrs. Obama, not "Michelle.") He is not your friend, he has earned his position as every President of the United States prior has earned theirs. It's also arrogant and assuming to call Senator Clinton Hilary or President Bush "shrub." I couldn't stand President Clinton but I always find it repugnant to hear him referred to as "Slick." When posters use these ridiculous names (whichever side they may fall on politically) they betray their own stupidity in a mere few keystrokes.

I agree with those wishing Obama health (and safety) in the next four years because as much as I am concerned about what an Obama presidency might bring, the thought of Joe Biden as the pres scares me out of my wits! He seems like a truly good man, but he's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. I worry about his mental state. Really, Obama is a very smart man, why did he choose Joe Biden? He could have made a better choice, but what's done is done.

You will not catch me saying Obama is not my president. I believe in our system. The public chose him, so he is our president. I wish him luck and hope he is successful. If he fails then American fails. I would never root for my beloved America to fail.

I find it very amusing that people try to justify using the 'Hussein' part of Barack Obama's name because it IS part of his name. Whilst strictly speaking this is correct you are really not fooling anyone by making such childish excuses. There is no issue with using it as PART of his name...ie Barack Hussein Obama - as this is fact. However it is different altogether to JUST use Hussein or to oops accidentally on purpose 'lose' the Obama bit making his name sound like he's a long lost son of Saddam. As Bicker (and others) have already said there is only ONE reason to refer to him in this way and that's to try and indicate that he is either a muslim (which, it seems, is as bad as being a satan worshipper in some people's eyes) or a terrorist or BOTH!
