Barnstormer vs Big Thunder Mountain

I've ridden BTMRR a few times, but I really don't like it. I don't ride it any more. What I don't like is that it goes down and curves at the same time if that makes any sense. It makes me feel sick. I can ride Splash Mountain because it goes straight down. The worst part is when you go over a bump then under something (maybe in a cave), and it feels like you are going to bump you head. I am too scared to ride Barnstormer.

I have never rode Barnstormer, I am afraid of heights and a ride chicken and I love BTMR I ride it multiple times and one of my favorites! It is a little jerky but I really enjoy it I would not get on Barnstormer because I can see through the tracks and is high for me. I would give it a try it is jerky though.

I'm definitely not a thrill ride person and neither is my youngest. But we both LOVE BTMRR!!!! He won't even try many coasters but wants to go on this one over and over. We're both more comfortable on that than Space Mountain or even Barnstormer. We skip both of those, but have a blast on BTMRR. Tried Everest once and I don't like the backwards thing. He won't even go on it!

So from a couple of ride chickens---don't be so quick to pass on BTMRR!

;)

My 70-year-old mom, who hates roller-coasters, decided to take the plunge and ride BTMRR as our first Disney ride. She LOVED it. Yes, she closed her eyes during some parts but when she got out she was laughing and having the time of her life. So my advice is don't knock till you tried it for yourself. You may hate it but you may as well love it.

I rode barnstormer in Dec. and when I mercifully got off of it my first comment was "this is a kiddy ride"??? I found the ride to be very jerky and I ended up with a bruse on my leg from hitting the inside of the car going around a corner.

I really don't do any type of drop or thrill rides more than once (keeps my coaster riding husband happy when I go on something at least once!) I really am a chicken.
My exception to this rule is BTMRR I love this ride! I will even ride it more than once in a row if the line is short enough.

So, never again barnstormer ~ whenever I can BTMRR!
Peace.

My five-year-old thought Barnstormer was scarier than BTMRR. But that's because he was sitting right next to me for BTMRR and he was in a row by himself for Barnstormer.

For most people, Barnstormer is less scary than BTMRR. If you were too scared by Barnstormer, then I don't suggest riding BTMRR.

I agree I do not like Roller Coasters. I have not ridden the new Barnstormer coaster--I rode it once with my niece a few years ago, but I do LOVE LOVE LOVE TM. It's my favorite ride at MK. I am an annual passholder and there are only a few rides I haven't ridden (Sp Mtn, RnR C, Exp Ev, Mis Sp, and Tow of Ter), but I will ride TM. I just think it's a fun little coaster. It has three lifts. If you want a "slower" ride, try to ride up front if they will let you. The first couple of cars appear to go slower because you are halfway down the drop before you take off when the rest of the train goes over the drop. Personally I like the last car or the car in front of that. That is my favorite place to sit. :) Also when you go up the hills lean forward in your seat until the cars catch up. It will help from getting your back/neck dislodged. :) There is a "catch" I guess you could call it when go up the hills...and these hills don't feel like they are big. I do not like heights (get dizzy) and I think these are okay hills. Anyway, just passing some helpful info if you decide to go.

PS This is my first post and hopefully it's helpful. :) (I don't know all the abbreviations yet.) All in all, if you don't want to go on it just wait until the other person gets back. I do it all the time when I don't want to ride a ride that day. They ride and I'll hang out at the end or go to a store and come back (or go get fastpasses for another ride). Oh, another thing you can do is both of you get a fastpass and other person can ride twice. My dad will do that for my mom a lot since he doesn't ride many of the rides.
