I've read a few posts on this board about barking dogs.

I believe at RPH, there is one tower that strictly prohibits dogs.

Am I correct? Can anyone affirm that there is one Tower at RPH that strictly prohibits dogs????

Thanks...:goodvibes

Second floor of tower 2 is where the dogs go. This is close to the doggy play area and eliminates the need for dogs to be walking throughout the hotel to get to it. Ask for tower 1 or 3 which should be dog-free.

At RPH is is floor 1 now, my sister stayed in a pet room there at the end of the hall with her little doggie. On checkout day she wanted to leave him in my mom's room since she was staying an extra night and she was in tower 2 floor 4 (smoking floor) and they said NO WAY (which I agree with).

Now, at one point she did bring him up to my mom's room and he is a barker when people come in. When I left the room I saw security and asked if she was heading to the barking dog room and she said no, not to worry about it even though he was on the wrong floor.

Now if she brought him over to tower 1 or 3 that might have been a different story. I love my family but I make sure to get a room in tower 1 or 3 since I want nothing to do with barking dogs or smoking.

FYI - my sister smokes and they allowed her to smoke in her pet room on the first floor so if you don't want smoking don't go anywhere near tower 2 :)

OK well FWIW ...

I stayed at PBH for my hubbies 35th birthday, and although the majority of the room was clean, we ended up finding dog biscuts pieces in the furniture, and drapes....and dog hair lingering between the cushions...ew ew ew....at the time I didn't know PBH.. allowed pets....who wouldve thought?

Fast forward to today...We are going to RPH in less than two weeks.
My hubby is quite allergic to dogs...

I called up and stated that we absolutely could not be in a room that had previously had pets in it. I said I didnt want to be in tower 2. The reservation agent on the phone did NOT say "YES that is the tower without pets"

...I kept saying thats the tower withOUT pets right? And she would respond with ...well they usually put the pets on the ground floors. Nothing committal. So Anyways...I was adamant about this request, and Ill let everyone know when we get back where we were placed. Hoping for a pleasant trip!

The front desk is always great about trying to get you your room request so when you check in just tell them what you want and what you don't want. I'm sure you will end up with what you request.

Did you call the hotel directly or did you call the reservation line? I would make sure you talk to the hotel directly.

How far in advance should we call to request we are far away from smoking or pets rooms? DD has asthma, so we can't stay in one of those.

A week should do it.

You can actually call now and have them put it in your reservation and then call again a week before you check in.
