We are currently at the BWI CL Deluxe room. Because of the Hurricane Irma Evacuation and families affected Dogs are currently allowed at Disney Hotels and even saw them at the Halloween Party last night. I am fortunate enough that even though I live in Ocala, Fl and was hit with the Hurricane we were not hugely affected only minor damage and repair.
I have 3 Labradoodles that are like my children and wherever I go they go in an Emergency. I was proud of our Governor Scott who made a mandate that no Hotels could refuse to give lodging to any pet owners. I get that part and truly understand the importance of it. On the other hand I feel along with that should be a warning that Animals should not be left unattended for hours on end. It is extremely unfair to the animals in this case (DOGS) 2 of them as a matter of fact to be left in the room for the entire day unattended. We checked into our room at 12:30 and these dogs have been barking non stop. The guest next to them said it went on and off all night last night. There have been numerous complaints and the manager has reached out to owners by phone and gotten no response yet from dog owners. This is not acceptable and the worst part is they offered the people next to them to be moved by tomorrow ... that's not good enough.Im checking out tomorrow so I guess I won't be given that option. The House rule should be fair to guests and pets should not be allowed to be unattended for more than 2-3 hrs at a time. They do need potty breaks people!!!!!! What's wrong with you... No one Loves Dogs more than I do and I think it's very cruel to leave them like this and they need to be more considerate.

Sounds like a good reason for some resorts to remove the carpet and put in hard floors...like POP.

Hopefully those people with barking dogs have a home to return to. I can overlook it.
I fully support the Hotels allowing the Dogs to stay at the Hotels.I have 3 dogs that I Love Dearly. The point of the matter is... Management tried to reach out the entire day to the owners. Owners NEVER RESPONDED BACK. There were numerous complaints by others on the same floor. They never responded to any of the Text, or Phone Calls.Would you do this??? I wouldn't...They were told from the beginning that they were not allowed to leave the Dogs unattended. That is my point. I feel it was cruel to ignore the poor dogs the entire day. Btw... this went on till after 10:30 pm. They were not exactly in " I lost everything " if they are enjoying themselves in PARK mode". Management checked their Itenerary and yes they were at a park till after 10:30. I feel like people are abusing the "allowing pets rule" by not following the guidelines. This is going to make it difficult on the other guest and simply put not fare to me. By law Management can not enter the room because the DO NOT DISTURB sign is on the door.
I will say after numerous talks with Management we were compensated for this bad experience but I really needed this time to relax and be stress free because I too live in Ocala and was greatly affected by the Hurricane and had hoped this time away would help me get over the trauma I went through. I had planned the entire day to rest and relax at the Hotel and that was the point of staying ClubLevel.

I thought that the dogs were not supposed to left unattended in the rooms anyway. The manager should enforce that rule for the respect of other guests.
The Management team has reached out to owners the entire day and gotten No response. There is a Do Not Disturb sign on the door and their Itenerary states they are at a Park.

I think Disney is doing the best they can to accommodate everyone right now due to the unusual effects of the hurricane. It's unfortunate that the dog owners are not being more responsible, and it's unfortunate that there is no way for Disney to rectify the situation: the hotel is probably packed, making it difficult to impossible to move people, and there is no way for them to reach the absent dog owners who will not answer the phone. The hotel is not a kennel. There is no place for management to take the dogs away to, and the staff is not trained to safely interact with strange dogs.

This kind of situation is why most hotels do not allow pets.

The Hotel has done everything they can to help the guest that are being bothered by this situation. They cannot enter the room by law because the Do Not Disturb sign is on the door. There is a Kennel on Disney property that the Dog owners should have used if staying away for the day. The guest are also checking out today so that will solve the problem. Disney has done everything they can to make the aleviate the problem that's for sure.
My point of this post was mainly to warn guest that before checking in just ask not to be placed near any rooms where dogs are present.

No problem. It's a common error that made it's rounds this hurricane season. A nephew was complaining to me about not being able to shelter at a hotel with his cat and I was able to find a different place for him with a less restrictive policy. He kept telling me it was the law so I had to let him down gently in that manner surrogate moms have when you are borrowing money auntie knows she never see again, LOL.
Slight digression over:D.

Disney should have placed all families with dogs at ONE Resort only (ex. A of A) for a variety of reasons. Some people (myself included) simply Do Not Want to vacation with dogs. Then there are the Health issues including Allergies and the Dog Poop that is everywhere right now. Disgusting! A lot of people count on Disney Hotel Rooms being Pet-free and did Not get what they paid for. If I were there, I would expect a FULL refund; and trust me, I would get it
