I need a little reassurance that others feel the same as I do or at least not the way the person I describe below. When I find a great bargain I like to share (brag?) with everyone. Also, I've always felt a little guilty buying things for myself so I have to justify the purchase with everyone.
So I had some people over the other day and someone mentioned this beautiful handblown bowl I just got. I explained how I was shopping at this store having a huge inventory sale and found this bowl, which was the last in the series clearanced 90 percent off. Someone said if I didn't tell everybody how much I really spent on something they would have more respect for me. I never took it that way but she said by me telling everyone the great deal, they look at it as "cheap" instead of "quality". She also said it makes people question how much I spend on gifts.
Do you think I should just keep my finds to myself from now on? I just get sooooo excited when I find something really nice and a great deal. (like tonight I took my daughter to buy some bedroom stuff and found a beautiful sheet set regularly $23.- marked down to $4.-)

Seriously, who says something like that? I share my great finds with people too. My friends now come to me first when they're looking for something to see if I know where it might be on sale.

You can tell by the sort of raised eyebrow expression they give. But my good friends love to hear of a great sale and will want to go check it out for themselves. I've learned which people are store 'snobs' and who might look down on buying something on clearance and those I just don't tell at all that I've even gotten anything new.
