Very cool about being bumped up to first class. Too bad you couldn't have flown first class all the way to Detroit, but al least you two got to be together.
Really enjoyed the trip report, and I'll be keeping an eye out for your and Caitlin's pre-trip.
First class would have been nice all the way but hey you take what you can get right?

Dawn -
to you and your family for volunteering. I am thinking about doing it as well, since there are several opportunities close to my house. I wish I could get volunteer hours for my marching band (because that's strictly volunteer).
Are you able to upgrade the one day pass to an AP? I will be needing a new AP by fall.
I love your final update. Kuddos to you for the first class upgrade, but too bad you slept through the whole thing. Bummer for changing flights. I only did that once. It's so much more time consuming, but works if you aren't on a limited travel schedule and can devote the time towards flying longer.
I totally agree with this review of POP. It was surprisingly nice during my two off season stays, but I would not want to stay there during the high season. I stayed there in late August one year with my boys. Even though the parks were empty, POP was just hopping with people. I like my resort to be a little more quiet, but September was superb. I will not hesistate to stay there in the future. Plus I am looking forward to the day when we can stay POP for a few days during free dining then transition to DVC during food and wine!
As far as I know the "Give a Day" tickets can't be upgraded. The choices are a 1 day ticket, a donation to charity or park fast passes. The FP option trades 1 park ticket for FP for your group/family of up to 5 people. We plan to take the FP figuring we can do this at 3 of the 4 parks

I was not a fan of changing planes especially when there was less than an hour between planes!
We loved Pop but like you said Sept is different. I don't like overly crowded resorts, a big reason we aren't All Star fans, so Sept was perfect!
How cool that you got upgraded to 1st class for your first flight but sorry to hear that you had to go through all that trouble with your flight making stops![]()
Sorry to see this TR come to an end but I def will be joining in for your joint Pre-TR !
I hope to be putting a Trip on the boards here soon once I see how taxes treat us this year . I'm thinking possibly in September , so we can take advantage of the Military tickets offered this year , we shall see![]()
I'm so glad you're going to join our PTR! Caitlin already posted the link

I hope your tax return is generous and you can plan a trip too! I'll keep my fingers crossed! I know you'll keep us posted if you are able!
I've enjoyed your TR so much Dawn, thank you for sharing it.Woohoo for the first class bump..I guess they thought they needed to even it out on your next connection..lol. Glad you ended up being able to sit together though
I understand what you mean about going without the rest of the family..as much as I joke about it with Piper, I never do anything exciting when she's with her Dad! (Well, aside from shopping alone and sleeping in..lol.) I can't imagine ever going anywhere like that without her either, at least until she's a LOT older..like..married and out of the house, LOL. It's just the two of us though, which also makes a difference, I think.
Aww thank you! I'm glad you joined us! I think you and Piper would have the same relationship even if it wasn't just the two of you! Mother-daughter relationships are very special and when the daughter is an only (IMO) it only magnifies the bond. I can't wait to hear all about your trip!
