Barefoot, Pregnant, and in Walt Disney World!

Oh wow Dellas! Our days are June 16-22! :woohoo: We'll be there the day you arrive, and then we'll leave on your first full day... how cool!! If I see a pregnant woman with her mom I'll be tempted to say hi! :rotfl:

Day 6: Epcot, Checkout, and The Flight Home

The last day of our trip... it came so quickly! I had finished packing the night before, so this morning was not very different than our other mornings. I headed to the Pop food court for snack credit breakfast items, then got back to rouse the troops. Check out time was eleven a.m. and we didn't want to come back. We also knew that the resort would hold our bags for us until we needed to leave for the airport, so we took everything with us when we left and went to the front desk to check out early.

This last day was going to be our Epcot- Future World day! (Remember, we only saw the World Showcase side because we shared our Epcot day with Typhoon Lagoon, whew!). We got to Epcot a little after opening and the first thing the kids wanted to do was the giant Epcot ball (I completely forget what that ride is called!!). After that we went to the Nemo ride, which was so cool!! We spent some time at The Seas exhibit, then we rode The Land and spent a long time at innoventions. By then everyone was getting hungry, so we stopped at the Electric Umbrella. This place is great for an air conditioned counter service meal. Very clean, free refills on drinks, huge burgers, and lots of space for strollers and pregnant bellies. There were also a lot of options, it was one of my favorite counter service places on our trip!

We had to make it back to the resort by 3pm for our Magical Express trip back to the airport   So we did the Figment ride and then left... I feel like there was a lot we missed at Epcot! Both days at this park were pretty skimpy, I hope we're able to give it more attention on our upcoming trip!

We made it back to the resort a little after 2pm. Somehow we ended up with an extra counter service leftover, so we bought a sandwich meal to take with us to the airport. We spent the rest of our time in the Pop Century gift shop, buying trinkets for friends and family back home. The kids were SOOO not thrilled to be leaving! But all too quickly it was time to get our things and board the Magical Express. Our trip was coming to an end.

The Magical Express got us to the airport extremely early! We had time to kill and took pictures of the kids on the Harley Davidson motorcycle and near the statue of Snow White. We also watched airplanes, hoping to play up the excitement of the plane ride to stave off any Disney Blues. We had a short flight to... hmm, I forget where our layover was... in any case I didn't want to break out the Benadryl until the five-hour leg of our flight was coming up! We boarded the plane and they were cheerful and full of anticipation at the flight. On board we spent some time looking through their autograph books and talking about all the things we did and characters we met. When they started getting bored I pulled out the toy sets I'd bought for them and hidden while we were at Pop Century. Yay for surprise toys!! I'm glad I waited until they needed them to pull them out!

The layover, as can be imagined, was not a fun part of the trip for anyone. By the time we boarded our connecting flight it was clear they needed sleep and DH and I could use a nap ourselves! I definitely didn't want sinus fluid to build up due to the plane's changing altitude ;) so I took their pediatrician's advice and gave them each a dose of Benadryl about twenty minutes before take-off. By the time we were at cruising altitude they were contentedly sleeping. DH and I chatted quietly and happily about our wonderful adventures, the good, bad and crazy, and about how we hoped we would be able to come back again someday. Our very first trip to Disney World was really over, and it was... and still is... the best family vacation we've ever taken.

Thanks to anyone who read through our family's trip report! I've never written one before, and I'm really glad I did. It's made me all the more excited to be going back! :cloud9: :lovestruc

Leaving is always hard--makes me sad even now and i haven't even been:rotfl:

Yes, around forty days to go! Woo-hooooo!!! :dance3:

Soaring was open last time but the line was really long and the fast pass was going to cut it close to our leaving time. I will REALLY try to get on that one this time around!

Spaceship Earth! That's what it's called! The kids liked it last time :thumbsup2 We'll be sure to go again this time too!
