Okay, I'm ready to take the plunge, been reading all the positive threads for the past year or so.

I'm going to buy the basic $60 kit(probably from the medispa store) and some eye color samples (off ebay). I do have some complexion issues and wonder what else I need to buy.

I have some imperfections that will probably need heavier covering-what product will do this??

I do tend to be very oily in the summer but very dry in the winter-will I need two different sets for the two different seasons?

I'm not usually a makeup wearer (usually only when we go out) but I find that I need it more and more with the issues I'm having with my complexion. Any other suggestions you guys may have are very welcome! Thanks

I'm interested in the answers to your questions so I will give you a hand and bump you up

Well I have only been using it for 2 weeks but I will be glad to offer my two cents!! :teeth: I have oily (T zone) skin along with many red acne scars (left over from younger days) along with broken capillaries along my nose. Boy, being 40 something stinks. Anyway, I just love this stuff. I bought the promo kit and I also bought the summer bisque that I am using as a coverup first. Not only can you not see any of my "flaws" but I don't get oily during the day at all. I am a believer!

The kit should come with the brushes you need. I suggest the Kubki brush if you need better coverage and I think it comes with the kit right now. The only other thing I would suggest is the multi purpose mineral 'bisque.' It works really well as a concealer.

The kit comes with 2 foundation shades, since I've been out of bisque I've been using the lighter shade as a concealer (applied with the concealer brush that comes in the kit) and then using the darker shade as foundation. That works, but I still think I prefer the bisque.

I have an issue with hives and they are nearly always on my face and I get good coverage. Of course the bumpiness is still there but I my face isn't screaming 'look at my red splotches' either.

My only other suggestion is give youself a while to get used to it. Use it sparringly and play with it a lot. It takes a while to get used to. I also think it looks better after an hour or 2 so give it time to set before deciding if you like it. A lot of people don't really like it right away but I've found the more you use it and the more pratice you get with it the better it gets.

There is a brush, I think it is called a concealer brush. It will put the makeup on really thick, so I use it for spots that need extra help. I use the same foundation for all of my face though, no extra concealers or anything.

No, I use the same thing year round. My nose is oily, my forhead is dry. The same think works on both spots.

IMO, the warmth is a waste of money. I don't use it. It is just WAY too dark for me to do anything with. I use the foundation and eyeshadows. I don't bother wth the mineral veil or warmth. I like the mineral veil, I just ran out and got used to not using it.

I am not sure I like the warmth either. I probably won't buy more of that once I run out. I do LOVE the mineral veil. That is the best powder I have ever used!

I like the warmth. I use it as a blush. But you have to use it VERY VERY VERY sparrinly. I don't think I'll ever run out of it.

I put it on before the mineral veil which I think helps blend it in and tone it down more.

I agree...if you need good coverage, make sure you use the kabuki brush. I've also started applying the mineral veil in my T zone before the foundation and again after. This really keeps the shine down.
This line does take a little while to get used to, but I doubt I'll ever go back to liquid foundation.
Oh, one more thing...my face has not been this blemish free since I was 10 or 11!

Great advice here. I'd purchase a bisque also. I still have mine from way back when it was an eyeshadow!! Users started using it as a coverup and Leslie started marketing it as such.
I never use my warmth (I have several containers). I bought one years ago and still have it plus a few smaller containers that have come with kits or TSV from QVC. RadioNate is right, you must go lightly with it as it is highly intense color. Not as bad color or anything--just harder for me to use since I have to be soooo careful with it.

I have several eyeshadows and glimmers. I think my fav glimmer is bare skin. I bought it for my niece for her first eyeshadow and it is a little glimmery but the color is very natural and pretty.

I have oily skin. I still have oily skin when wearing it (mostly summertime) but love the feel of no makeup on my skin.

Have fun experimenting when your order arrives! :)

I agree with the other posters about using Bisque or Summer Bisque and the concealer brush. Also the kabuki brush is a must have.

I have been using BE for about a year and I have noticed a definite improvement in the condition of my skin. This makeup is really amazing!

There is a HUGE amount of tips and info at www.beaddicts.com. Scroll down to BE FAQ and BE Tips. There is also a message board there too!

Oh and also, on QVC shopping channel on November 19 there will be a special kit from BE with a new kabuki brush and other new items and it will be about $50. Check the message board at BEAddicts for more info.

Have fun with your new kit!

I use warmth on my lips when I want some natural color. I take my latte for the lips (or whatever it's called), dip it in the warmth, tap, and put on my lips. Looks great!!

I double the posters suggesting the kabuki and concealer brush. They work great!

I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I've been teetering on trying this product and I think, based on your testimonials, it's worth giving it a try.

thanks everyone, I'm feeling much better about it now, I'm certainly not 'good' at doing makeup so I'm sure it will take me a while to get used to it. There are no stores around here but dmslush isn't too far from me, maybe I can get her to be my personal makeup artist :rotfl2: ;)

Hey! I highly suggest getting this brush - http://www.medispastore.com/maximum_coverage_face_brush_1_5897_prd1.htm. Dampen it very slightly and swirl it in your minerals in the lid. Apply it to your face, and you get a much heavier application. This is great for covering larger areas. I do this when I have chin breakouts. I wouldn't be without it!

::yes::
Dampening the brush (just damp, not wet) does help with coverage for places where you need a little extra.
I started wearing it in January and went from someone who hardly wore any makeup to wearing makeup every day - even when I'm not going anywhere. It feels so un-makeup like.

I agree with the others that it does take a bit of practice to get used to applying it. The eye make up is great. It stays on and looking good all say.

I didn't like warmth, it's too intense. But, after going to ULTA and having a makeup consultation, I saw that even though I thought I was using a teeny bit, I was using about twice as much as I should. I did buy a more pink "blush".

Just to warn you in the beginning when you first start using it....you will have that powdery dust everywhere. I was sooo frustrated with it. Hang in there you will get used to it. I love the warmth and use it as all over face color!!
Good luck. If you want order from QVC then if you find you don't like it you can return it within 30 days. :earsboy:

I've been using it since 1998, and I love it! I can't wear Warmth either, but I love Glee! It's the pink equivilent of Warmth. Warmth works well for yellow toned people, and Glee works best for pink toned people.

I've been having lots of breakouts on my chin, and I can't believe the great coverage I get with that dampened brush and the minerals.

Thanks to all the wonderful, informative posts, I decided to bite the bullet and try BE. I was looking at it on Sephora.com, on QVC, at the BE website, etc. and figured that I didn't know what shade to buy, what things to buy, etc. so I just held off. As I was driving to the mall today, I stumbled upon a salon w/a huge pink "We Sell BE Minerals" sign and I pulled straight into the parking lot! I went in and the woman showed me how it all worked, how to apply it (she gave me a mirror and showed me what she was doing w/each brush and color) and gave me a "makeover". Well, I am totally hooked and I bought the intro kit. I know I can buy eye shadows, etc. and prob. will go back for more once I get the "hang" of this. The woman was super nice and said that if I was having any problems, to bring my kit in and show her what I was doing and she'd help me correct any errors/mistakes I was making.

I told her that I had been wanting to try it, but didn't want to just do so blindly on tv or internet. I was happy that I got to "test drive" it before buying. But, the second I saw my face outside in daylight (she told me o go outside w/the mirror) as well as inside the salon, I knew I had to get a kit!

I look like I'm totally glowing!!! DH said "What's going on? You're glowing"! I told him it was my BE!!!

Thank you so much for your reviews. I am totally hooked and love that it's good for my skin!

Sincerely,
The new BE addict!

I've been thinking about buying BE for awhile now, and after having my SIL's mom use some of her products on me, I am definitely going to take the plunge. I just have to wait for our Sephora to open, as I really need to try it out first, as I have very fair skin.
Great to read all the wonderful testimonials. Now if our Sephora would just hurry up and open. :)

Can anyone compare BE to Philosophy's Airbrushed Canvas? I've been using Philosophy and I love the way it looks but my skin doesn't seem as happy with it. BE seems like a similar product - how is the coverage and is it okay for sensitive skin?
