Barcelona flight...

Need help! I'm not a pro at booking flights...we only fly maybe once a year. I went to aer lingus and I searched for May 25th from JFK to BCN and this is what popped up...

Tuesday 25 May 2010
USD Departing Arriving Flight Duration
433.97 JFK 17:45 Tue 25 May DUB 05:15 Wed 26 May EI104 10hr25
DUB 06:40 Wed 26 May BCN 10:10 Wed 26 May EI562

Can someone help me with these times of departure and arrival? :confused3

This means that you leave JFK on May 25th at 5:45pm - arriving in Dublin at 5:15am the next day.

You then change planes, leaving Dublin at 6:40am, getting into Barcelona at 10:10am. :thumbsup2

Ok got it! Thanks!! If we are going on the MED in May 26th on the Magic and it departs from Barcelona, does anyone know of a good scenerio if we arrive in Barcelona the morning of departure? OR would you even do this? We've cruised out of Port Canaveral only and have always flew into MCO the day before. Should we do this in Spain also or is arriving the day we board okay? We're desperately trying to swing this MED cruise on May 26th!!! :goodvibes

People have posted about doing this, but I wouldn't chance it unless I had a direct flight. From my home airport, there is no such thing as a direct overseas flight. Even then, I'd opt for a hotel room for a day to recover from jet lag. There are some hotels near the airport that have complimentary or low cost shuttles to downtown and the cruise terminal. The extra day would also allow any lost luggage to catch up with you.

Even if I had no desire to see the city, I'd allow an extra day so that I'd be ready to really enjoy the cruise.

Thanks for the advice! Do you happen to know what the name of the port is in Barcelona that we would be boarding the Magic from? Also do you personally have any experience with any of these hotels your speaking of and could give me the names of any of them? I would greatly appreciate any help I could get as I really am clueless about traveling overseas. :flower3:

Renaissance Barcelona Airport Hotel is a Marriott property and they offer an airport shuttle (free) and shuttle to the cruise port (pay).

I am also on the May 26 Cruise. We are in Knoxville so we will not have a direct flight, but do have a lot of options (JFK, PHL, ATL, Charlotte, Chicago, Newark, etc). We are looking at leaving May 24 or May25. Just looking for the best price.
For the flights out of BCN, I am having a hard time finding even a "decent" price on anything after 12 noon. Not even a lot of choices.
Anyone with help?????

Got an outstanding deal today through British Airlines. I got 3 coach tickets for $994 each. Our itinerary is Memphis to London, Stay in London for 3 days, Fly from London to Barcelona the day before the cruise, Fly from Barcelona to London and stay there the night we got off the ship, and then fly from London to Memphis the next day. I get to see another country, don't have as long of trips (12 hrs 40 min is the max) and saved $900.

I got British Airways for $949 round trip. It might get cheaper later, but I wanted it booked before my final payment date...which is coming up in less than a month.

That's not such a bad price...not from NY anyway.
