Barcelo $59 night!

Rec'd info via travelzoo that the Barcelo on Int. Drive is avail for $59/night including breakfast buffet & $25 in food coupons. Thru Oct. 12th, with blackout dates...

Has anyone stayed here before?

But I have never seen the resort before. I would also love to hear if anyone has stayed there and what they thought of it. According the the website, it sounds like you can walk to a shopping mall/center.

It was a raddison and it got dropped .The main building is nice,the out buildings are fair at best stayed there one nite in feb 2006,checked into the crown plaza.......It was like moving from the motel 6 to the grand cypress.It does have a good location.......but that's all i can say about it.....Bottom line stay in the main tower if you stay......I think faindrops27 said it right check trip advisor the reviews are not so great (wish i would have listened......)You live and learn

Didn't realize it was no longer a Radisson, but not completely surprised. We stayed there in 2003. The thing to realize is that there are two sections. One is the tower which has lovely large, well appointed rooms with interior corridors. The other is the standard room section which has older furnishings and exterior corridors.... really pretty tatty.... frig didn't close properly, etc. These rooms definitely were not as well maintained. The difference in price between the two sections is considerable but you get what you pay for sometimes. We stayed one night in a standard room and asked to be moved to the tower... well worth the difference in price.

I believe the $59 deal is for a standard room.

For International Drive, it is a great location at the quieter end of the street. You can also walk to several shopping areas and restaurants.

I agree with you 100% I am not a hotel snob what so ever .Let me clear up one point,i did not leave the Raddison in a huff to go check into the Crown plaza,(not that you implied that i did and wanted to make sure all the dissers understand that)It was the way my reseverations were worked out on that trip,I was like you and got into the (resort section) I also agree that the main Tower is 100% NICER!!!!!!AS I LIKE TO SAY YOU LIVE AND YOU LEARN....
