Anyone who have bought the Barbie Townhouse for a CHristmas gift, could you please post a review of it?

I am eager to hear all about it, if it works, if the kids like it, etc.

I have heard it was discontinued. That would be really weird since it just was released for sale.

If indeed it was discontinued by bet is that something is up and it will be "recalled" in January. They don't want to mess up Christmas. Just a hunch.

I look forward to the reviews.

Let see....Im not sure it was worth the high $$, but the girls do love it! I will say their American Girl dolls were a bigger hit.....kinda unexpected. I think for the amount of $$ it should have even more unexpected suprises then just the fireplace and a few lights. I will say it wasnt hard to put together, which when you first open the box you may think it will be!! Hubby said a few choice words when we first opened the box :lmao: All in all, if it were say $80, Id say it was great....but for $144 on sale, for which I also had 20% BCB which brought it down to $116 for me, still over priced.

We have last years and the windows fall out and it is not very sturdy. My dd wanted this years for the elevator but Santa must have left at it someone elses house. :rotfl2: I agree, worth 60 or so, not over 100$.

My dd8 received the Barbie Glam Vacation House from Santa. It was $34.99 on amazon when it was ordered a couple months ago (I've never seen it in stores). She LOVES it. It also folds up really small. It is not nearly the size of the townhouse, but honestly I didn't want something that big or expensive, so this might be a nice alternative if you aren't wanting to spring for the townhouse. Right now resellers are asking about $75 for it, but I bet if you wait a couple weeks the price will come back down as inventory starts to increase on this item.

:rotfl:DD was incredibly happy to get this one big gift she wanted though, so I'm glad we did it!

Assembly wasn't too bad, it's sort of sturdy in some ways, really cheap-o in others. The elevator is really flimsy softer plastic that was deformed when it came out of the box and gets caught sometimes when you try to raise or lower it. :confused3 The white railing on the balcony is downright awful. It doesn't stay in place and is all warped. Other than that, it's okay. Lots and lots of tiny pieces bound to get lost and frustrate me and DD.

To me, worth it just for how thrilled DD was, but that's the only reason I think it was worth it. For the money, pretty cheaply made. If this isn't what you DD is asking for, I wouldn't bother, personally!

The Barbie Townhouse was #1 on DD(7)'s Santa wish list. Needless to say he did not bring it because he could not find it anywhere.

Santa did bring 4 rooms and 2 Pink Barbies, so DD was thrilled. She was kinda prepared that Santa didn't have anymore.

THanks for the reviews.

I would love to hear reviews on this as well. Who told you it was discountinued? I Decided against it for Christmas, but we have an upcoming B-Day. As with most plastic doll houses, I'm sure this one is made flimsy and kinda cheap too, but would love to find out more info.

DD has a family dollhouse - maybe FP? - that is really well-made and sturdy feeling. Much more impressive that the Barbie Townhouse. But it's too small for her Barbies, hence her desire for this one. :)

Oh, and Santa had lots and lots of trouble finding this one! I am officially nutso-mom for what we went through on this one. :rotfl: It was the only big item DD wanted, so we went for it.
