Barbie finds her Prince Charming- our English wedding & Disneymoon June 2011!

LOVE all the new clothes! I totally do the same thing! I bought for a year and a half before the honeymoon! Everywhere we went, I would announce to DH when I found something, "Cruise Casual!" Old Navy had a lot of nautical stuff at the time so I went with that theme too!

Great purchases, loving all the Cruise clothes, nautical is so the way to go and great that thats the style out right now.

I totally get buying now, as you're right in that it makes it easier to save up for spending money etc later on. Great idea on the separate savings account too :thumbsup2

Thank you ladies!

Now this is why I love these boards.. it's totally okay to buy clothes for honeymoon 12+ months before! .. if I told any of my friends that I've already started shopping for it, they'd think I was nuts!! :confused3

Just been buying some wedding things! will post about them soon :cloud9:

Got to be off to bed soon, we're picking up my cousin from her honeymoon in the morning - their flight lands at 5.25am :scared1: !! can't wait to see her & her new hubby though - Steve & I have a traditional English breakfast planned before they head back up north to Yorkshire!

Love all the new clothes you've purchased, did you get charged much from customs for the tshirt from Disneystore.com?
It's never too early to start picking bits up, im doing it too for my wedding and that isn't until 2012, but as you say it helps when you spread the costs.

Love the lanyard, reminds me i must pick one up at some point, my pins are all in an envelope atm :rolleyes1

Can't wait to see the wedding things you've been buying

I love all of your new clothes! It is absolutely not too early to start buying - I agree that splitting up the costs here and there makes it much easier to handle!

And I must order myself one of the Mickey and Minnie happily ever after tank tops! It is too adorable. :lovestruc

The new clothes are adorable. I had to laugh about the vest (tank top) for under the short T, because to me, age 15 and 25 are in the same category!:rotfl: Either way you wear it would be fine. Love the rara skirt. Very cute. It is never too soon to be picking out clothes for your upcoming trips. There will definitely be a big change in temperature when you leave New York for Florida. New York will be quite chilly (probably not to you), but Florida is normally still in the 70's in Dec. This last winter was abnormally cold for everyone in the USA. Snow buried my fence almost completely here in Northern Virginia (near Washington DC). That's just not normal!

I get the Disney Store emails every day. There's lots of new adult clothes to choose from. If you really want the nautical theme, we have a catalog and store here called LLBean. All the clothes they're showing this season really say Cruise to me. Lots of nautical prints and stripes too. go to WWW.LLBean.com I'm sure they can ship over seas. LLBean is my favorite brand of clothes.

Have fun shopping.:cool1:

Thanks everyone for comments! :goodvibes

I didn't have to pay customs on the tops - I think that packages under £30 ($45) don't have to pay customs?!
A few months ago I bought a D23 hoodie & some things from Disney outlet.. when it arrived I had to pay about £17 customs :scared1:

With these wedding tank tops - I was really lucky as another DISer (MrsDisneyB2B) let me have them posted to her in New York, then she posted them on to me - Disney charge $50 international postage, but it only cost $16 in total doing it 'indirect' through Jenny!

Picked up my cousin & her husband this morning! we discovered there is a 5am on Sundays
I got them the 'happily ever after' and 'just married' buttons from WDW last trip.. which they put on the hand-luggage... on the flight out to Singapore, an air hostess noticed - and brought them over a bottle of champagne!!
A magical moment, all from wearing Disney buttons! :wizard:

Oh thats nice of the stewardess to do that. Its nice that you can still get a little bit of Disney Magic, even if you aren't at Disney :)

I bought close way ahead of time too! heads up do a lot of shopping in September....its when all the summer stuff is on sale! its a perfect time. I like what you got already. I really want that Minnie Jumper its so cute.

Awww that was so sweet of Jenny to act as the postage middle woman!! That sure saved some $$.

Its great that you can sprinkle pixie dust on someone's vacation by just adding a Disney button!

I probably wear at least one thing Disney every single day. If nothing I have a pair of Mickey head diamond earrings that I wear most days, and I have almost all Disney watches. :goodvibes

All your clothes are very adorable! I miss Jenny, I should email her. That was really sweet of her to help you. So cute you have the NY book with the Disney book. Looking forward to reading more.

I saw you said that you want to go to Bloomies also. There are some good stores over there also. Victoria's Secret, H&M, NY & CO, Steve Madden, Nine West, Zara and this great shoe store called Shoe Woo to name a few. I am so excited for your NY and Disney trips! it does not get better then that-ok maybe italy thrown in ;)

Loving all the new purchases, definitely a way to make the spending feel more manageable!!! the crop tops are very on trend, but know what you mean about the vests in beneath!

and the jumper dress, good versatile choice! i think i'm going to wear minnie travelling too!

got my study leave yesterday for 6 weeks, then the exams last week in June...Boo!

Hello all!

A few wedding planning updates...

Guest 'book'
I saw this idea on a wedding website and loved it - I think it'll be much better than a tradition guest book as we'll actually have it up on the wall to look at!..

SigningFrameforGuests-confetti.jpg

The website had a sale on last weekend so... I decided to buy two!! they arrived on Thursday - I had them delivered to work which caused much amusement among my colleagues  but, as I explained, there's 'only' 58 weeks til the Big Day so I need to start the shopping & planning now!
They are also in black & white which DF loves... that's the colours his soccer team play in! :thumbsup2 (I'm trying to find subtle ways to include his passion for sports!)
I'm hoping to have two nice photos taken of us in WDW this December to put in the frames for the reception while people sign them - then I'll replace them with wedding photos :bride:

Also .. I'm thinking of buying some pens in WDW for people to use when writing on the frames.. does that sound like a good idea? maybe the Minnie bride pens or something similar.

Save the Date cards!

I've ordered these too!

I posted this before, but here they are again...

I've ordered pink butterfiles and diamante rhinestones to decorate them -

(oh and I've ordered the diamante in two different sizes, hoping to include a few hidden mickeys among the sparkles!!)

OH those butterflies are gorgeous! Love all the little subtle disney touches. Definitely go for the minnie bride pen! That's sound cute. I really like the idea of the picture frame "guest book." We didn't do one at all but a friend of mine got married on Block Island, it kind of had a nautical theme and they had an oar for everyone to sign that now hangs in their living room.

I love the frame idea - I can't wait to see how it turns out! And what is this Minnie bride pen you speak of? I am very intrigued! :yay:

Okay I can't find a pic on the internet of a real Minnie bride pen... but imagine this:

in white, with a little white veil & bow! :cutie: - I'm thinking of getting a couple of these & also some classic Mickey pens.. unless there are groom pens?! don't think I've ever seen those though!

This morning I took my sister (Verity, we went to WDW together in December!) to the airport with her friend as they're off to Florida... 4 nights in Bradenton at my parents' house then 3 nights at WDW :cool1: I am sooo jealous!!
Unfortunately they had some serious delays today due to the volcanic ash cloud - it is covering a lot of the Atlantic so planes were having to take a big detour around it.... they were meant to take off at 9am - but actually left at 3.45pm :scared1:

Oh I love the frames. What a GREAT idea. I have seen the Mickey bride pen. Not sure of a groom pen. I will look when I'm there in August. If I find some, I'll get them and "post" mail them to you. I agree the frames are nicer than a guest book. Unless you enhance the guest book with photos to make it into more of a scrapbook, you won't see it much. I don't think I even know where mine is. Although my wedding album and honeymoon scrapbook are right there in the corner bookcase.

I'm so sorry that the mean ol' volcano that nobody can pronounce has delayed Verity's trip to Florida. Glad she got going at least. It could have been worse.

Enjoying all the details.. and yes... you can't plan too early!!

I just had my bridal shower and my mom and maid of honor gave me the bride minnie pen! it is super cute!! Love all your ideas!

Hi
Just started reading your PJ. Everything sounds great!! I am very envious of your trip to NY!! It is my dream to go there. I'll make it one day!!
Just wanted to say (although it is totally irrelavent) that I was born and bought up in Surrey - the Carshalton area, and my daughter now lives in Guildford. When I lived in Salisburry, and I guess I am talking 15 years ago :scared1: I used to work in the Southampton Disney Store. My daughter now works in the Guildford Disney Store.
Love all your planning and will be following along :)

I love frame idea and the Minnie Wedding pen sounds really cute :goodvibes Those butterflies are lovely and will the diamante :goodvibes

The guestbook frames are great. My brother had one at his wedding and it turned out so nice. I like the decorations for the save the date cards. they are cute.
