I saw them at Target for I think $179.99. Amazon has them for $145 right now. Is that probably the best price I'm going to find? I ask because dd8 asked for one last Christmas (too late for Santa), and she's asking again this year. I'd rather wait to purchase it later, but if $145 is the best I'm going to do, I will just order it now. I know these also have a tendency to get hard to find closer to Christmas.

Thanks!

My daughter wants one too...check out the one made by Imaginarium....looks much nicer and much cheaper. Toys r us sells them I think.

Personally I find the Barbie branded stuff really expensive considering they are made of plastic and are not very durable. The wooden ones are much better value for your money. We bought DD8 the Barbie camper last year and it has already broken in a couple of spots. Whereas 3 years ago we bought her a Kidcraft wooden barbie house and it still is in excellent shape.
You can find the wooden ones at ToysRus, Costco at similar if not less $ than what you are planning to spend on the Barbie townhouse. Although I do understand that when DD is asking for something specific, we as parents try to get the exact thing but I would consider the wood ones for value.

I got my girls the barbie dream townhouse last christmas.. They play with it constantly and it has held up really well. There is def a wow factor with it. Yes the wooden ones are sturdier, but they just don't compare to barbie. I lucked out and found one at walmart close to christmas. I think i paid 169$. I am quite sure that 145$ is an awesome price. I would buy it now. If for some reason you find it cheaper later, you can return this one. Imagine how you will feel if they are hard to find closer to christmas.

I can't believe that thing costs that much. I got my dd the Dream hotel or whatever it was years ago, and it really was a piece of garbage, just cheaply made. I don't know about the TH specifially but I can't imagine its much different. If your dd is set on that, I'd try to find it as cheap as poosible because you will be constantly saying "I can't believe I paid that much money for this" like I did

If she doesn't have her heart set on that, I agree with the pp to check out the Imaginarium one. My friend's dd has that one, its not being played with anymore but they use it as a bookshelf because its built like one.
