Can you go there just for the colored gel and pixie dust? My DD wants to do this but doesn't want/need her hair cut.
Anyone know???

I am pretty sure you can. I only have boys and have gone there for the haircuts, but I have seen little girls with their hair done.

Will they do adult hair with just the gel and "pixie dust"? I am a kid, just a little older than most! :rotfl:

Yes you can. When we went our 2yo dd got her hair cut and some sprinkles, no color. My bil who was 13 at the time got the haircut, gel, and sprinkles, and my dd11 at the time just got the gel and sprinkles. They all loved all the attention they got, so many people came up and asked where they got there hair done. My dd had her hair long that day and they supplied a ponytail holder and put her hair up and did the mickey and color and sprinkles. They charged less for her than the others but I don't remember exactly how much.

If I can recall correctly, i think it was around $5 for hair colour and pixie dust for children, while a haircut and pixie dust was around $14. They even sprinkled pixie dust in my hair and I didn't ask. They were wonderful there, plus it was a great haircut my son received!

Great!!! Thanks!!
Next question..do I call in advance to make an appointment or do we just walk up??
Thanks
Kimba
PS..Disneynewbee..I just noticed we are both Kims and our countdowns are exactly the same...neat, huh?

We just walked up - no appt. was necessary. There are 2 barber chairs. and I think we had to wait for maybe 2 children ahead of us. Maybe only 15 mins (it may have been less!). They give the children stickers and if it is your child's very first haircut, they receive special Mickey ears that say My first haircut (or something along those lines..). Make sure you go early in the day, so the little one can enjoy showing off their magical hair-do! Many cast members comment and we even had a few characters in the parade make special comments. Don't forget to take pictures! :teeth:
PS: Washing the gel out makes a bit of a mess!! Have lots of shampoo ready! :rotfl2:

:teeth: I was so excited to hear about the gel and "pixie dust" in your hair but now you made me worry about the extra shampoo that is needed to take it out! :(

Oh well..... I might do it anyway!! JUST FOR FUN! :)

LOL that is neat. Can't wait to get there.

It's worth the trouble of extra shampoo...

My two DD's did this last year and they loved it. The were getting a little "worn-out" in the early afternoon and needed a place to rest. This turned out to be a great place to sit in the cool and take a moment to relax.

My DD's got all kinds of attention the rest of the day and over a dozen parents asked where the girls got their hair done. At Chef Mickey's, the charater's noticed the hair style and Mickey kept pointing to the gel Mickey design in my youngest hair.

The gel stayed in the rest of the day and didn't run. It takes a little effort to wash out. We put both the girls in the tub and made a game out of who could collect the most mickey heads (part of the pixie dust).

Thanks again! We'll have to plan on hitting this first thing in the AM. Get the whole day out of it!!

PS..Disneynewbee: I can't wait either!!!! :cool1:

I believe the barber shop is just before you head up main street on the right....correct if I am wrong please.

My son and husband had their hair cut, colored and sprinkled two years ago. They looked so silly! They gave my son a mo-hawk just for fun and told us to come back anytime if we wanted it changed. They got lots of attention that day and everything washed out in the shower. Arrive early or be prepared to wait. This year my girls are going Downtown to the new Boutique.

Just got back from my son's second haircut at the barbershop! He's only had 3 haircuts his whole life! (16 months old!) - the first and last haircuts were at the main street barbershop and I plan to take him again is september. They do a great job - hard to find a better place really! The place we went to locally (carnival cuts) was so awful my son cried the whole time!
I think it's on the left hand side as you walk up mainstreet facing the castle..before you really go up the main part of main street. We've had Michal and Norma so far and both were awesome. The only down side is that my son had hair all over him for the rest of the day that we kept trying to pick off his tshirt! Next time I'll bring an extra tshirt just for the haircut!

It was $5 for just coloring the last time we were in there. They don't take any appointments so you have to time the line correctly. Usually first thing in the morning and sometimes during the parades there isn't much of a line.

Thanks for the info!! Maybe I can talk DH into doing this too :scratchin

Oh I'm hoping to get DD's 1st haircut done there. When you say early, what do you mean? We have reservations at 9am at CRT...and I would like to get it done after that...around 10am I guess??

I'm so excited!!!
