Barber Shop in MK Question

Sorry - this has probably been asked before I know, but I was wondering if anybody has any real specific details for the barber shop on Main St. in the MK? We are planning to take DS who will be 14 months there for his first haircut next month. Believe me, it was a feat to not get his haircut sooner - his hair is kind of wily-looking now! We knew we wanted to take him to Disney though and make the experience really fun.

Anyways, does anybody know what hours the shop is open? Is it open with park hours? Does it help to get there right when the park opens? Anybody know how long the typical wait time is? If it is really long (like an hour or something) can you leave and come back? Do they know how to handle really small kids who have no idea what's going on and may be pretty tentative and/or scared about the whole thing? How long does a haircut take for a little one that age?

I welcome any advice! Thanks!

I'm not sure what the hours are for barbershop but we took our DS there for his first haircut when he was 15 months. It was a really nice experience - so nice that we have been waiting for our daughters first haircut in April. We went when the park first opened and there was already a line. We were fourth in line so my husband and I would take turns walking our son around the area to keep him occupied. From what I have heard, your best bet is to go first thing in the morning.

They are so nice there. I was afraid he wouldn't sit but they kept him occupied with lots of stickers and they had small toys for him to play with. They wrap a lock of your child's hair up for you to keep. They also give you a first haircut certificate and mickey ears with "First Haircut" stitched on them. I think the cost was $14, which is really good considering what you get. It was nice because they really make a big production out of it so I didn't feel silly taking so many pictures etc.

They open at 9 and I don't remember the close time but it is somewhere between 5-7. Not park hours. I got my dd's first hair cut (and all since) there. It is wonderful. I find it much easier to go later in the day. Someone in your party has to wait in line.
