Hey guys,
I am going to disney world solo at the beginning of june and I was reading about all the different places a solo traveler can go to eat and they can sit at a bar and have a fun experience. I was wondering if you guys can chime in on a list of the good ones to go to and the others that are available. I am open to going pretty much anywhere on disney property so I am open to your opinions.

thanks in advance,
Teresa

Couple of resort spots I like

Kona Island Sushi Bar at the Polynesian Resort it's open 5pm- 10pm

Bluezoo at the Walt Disney World Dolphin

California Grill at the Contemporary Resort

ESPN Club on the Boardwalk

Parks

Yak and Yeti at the Animal Kingdom

La Cava del Tequila inside Epcot's Mexico Pavilion

Downtown Disney

T-Rex

Raglan Road

Good list, T-Rex

Would add:
Tune-In Lounge in Hollywood Studios. Good people watching, easy access, comfort food and a real stiff pour.
Yak and Yeti also has these qualities
Cava del Tequila will kick your butt, be careful or be carried out
If you like beer the Rose and Crown Pub in England, World Showcase has some pretty good taps and Epcot's only full service bar

Disney bartenders are the best, they love solo diners and are generally fun to talk to

All good suggestions but we would add that POR is always fun when Bob performs! Get food from FC or order an app. We like Crews Cup at YC they have a decent menu. Both RFC's and T-rex bartenders are friendly and there is always something to look at. Paradiso. Mitzners at GF and Tambu at Poly serve drinks with a punch. Don't know about the food. Big River also pours a good drink and a beer sampler DS loves. The nachos are great! You have many options! ENJOY!! Wish I was going with you!! :goodvibes

I know it's not a bar, but I also enjoy eating at Teppan Edo as a solo. I've had some interesting conversations with others I've been paired with at different Teppanyaki restaurants. I really enjoy it. :goodvibes

As most people know, Tune Inn Lounge (the bar at 50's Prime Time) is perhaps my favorite. I love the bartenders there. The drinks are awesome, and the food is so comfort. Pot roast is awesome, crab cake to die for, chicken noodle soup depends on the day. . .Onion rings always awesome. . .

Enjoy.. .

Favorite bar to hang out and relax, with the best drinks ... La Cava del Tequila. But, the food choices are extremly lacking, an may be getting trimmed down even more based on what I've been hearing

For food and drink:

Tune-In: Get there early to make sure you can get a seat, but they've got killer onion rings

Rose & Crown: Full service bar, and really good apps. Yorkshire Pudding and a double Beefeaters/Tonic and I'm a happy boy

Thanks for all the help guys there are a lot of abbreviations and I am not sure what they all mean so if anyone wants to explain that would be awesome!

w ' t ' f = Wow That's Fantastic! :lmao:

Other's are on the link, but if ya don't wanna click here they are

por...Port Orleans Riverside
fc...Food Court
yc...Yacht Club
rfc's...Rain Forest Cafe
gf...Grand Floridian
poly - Polynesian Resort
ds.. Disney Son

Just adding...

Pretty much everywhere in DTD (Raglan, Pucks, Paradiso, RainForest, T-Rex, Planet Hollywood) serves full menu at the bar. Raglan has live music after 9 or 10, and the others at least have interesting scenery.

Mizners (in the Grand) has the menu from Citricos available.

The bar in The Wave (in the Contemporary) is quite big and serves the full menu as well.

Ro z- And I thought my company had a lot of acronyms... Yikes!!

Anyways, I haven't been solo myself yet but have hung out in a few of the bars to eat a meal with friends. Should be an interesting experience when I go back in about a week.

I liked the California Grill, BlueZoo, il Mulino, Artist Pointe (was actually there for Super Bowl this year, it was nuts!), Rose and Crown, and Cava del Tequila. All have a decent offering of food, drink, and an always gregarious cast member to banter with.

Cheers

I will add that I believe that Rose & Crown serves up a great cocktail for the best price on property. I was actually surprised.

I will also add ESPN Zone and Big River Grill which, like Tune Inn and California Grill (and many others), you can order from the full menu.

Worked for the phone company for almost 25 years. Even our name (for a while) was an acronym...NYNEX. We had EWD excused work day, SNEWD pronounced snood short notice excused work day, AWT average work time, VT voluntary time off. I could go on but I will spare you all!!!:rotfl:

I work for HP in SPO selling IPG and PSG to the SMB, PS, and ENT...

When you work for a company that abreviates their name with an acronym you know your in for some more... At least I got an acronym decoder ring...

How about them apples! Cheers

I work for a large MSO dealing with DACs, DNCS's, and making sure the TEDs, QAMs, QPSKs, RADDs, OMs, SEMs, NCs, and STBs all work. Of course, if the DM and BMRs are FOOBARed, then it won't really matter.

I'm also looking forward to when we finally finish deploying DSG since that would simplify some of the OOB paths by utilizing the CMTS. It would also remove the IPG from our immediate overview.

:rotfl:

OP, I know you are already there, but here are my favs...

Rose & Crown - standing bar but you can order food
ESPN Club - decent food, good drinks
Raglan Road - outside, especially during Happy Hour(s)
Portobello - just tried this last month, pleasantly surprised
HOB - usually empty but worth it
Wolfgang Puck - great pizza
Big River Brewery
Territory Lounge - at WL
The Wave
Mizner's Lounge-kudos to my bartender friend Tammy~
Kona Kafe sushi bar

Ok, I guess I could keep going... enough for now.

When you get back, let us know what you ended up trying.

As a frequent solo diner I've always had a pleasant experience regardless where I've been in Disney! The bartenders usually go out of their way to talk to you and I tend to walk away feeing like I've been sitting with a friend for the past hour! I hope you found some great places! Can't wait to hear about them!:)
