Banshee toys at AK

Hey - I have a friend that wants to buy 2 of those banshee toys that sit on the shoulder for his nieces and wants me to get them.
A couple of questions -
Are these only available at Animal Kingdom?
Can you buy more than 1 at a time? (I heard they have limited availability so maybe they limit how many one person can purchase?)
Are they adopted like Build a bears?
How much are they?

I believe that the banshees are only available at Animal Kingdom, in the Windtraders gift shop in Pandora. Some of the other Pandora items are available on line, but not the banshee puppets.
I think you can buy 2 at a time (don't know if this is per day or per visit), if they are in stock.
There is an "adoption" ceremony, but you can forego it.
I suggest also buying the cardboard "Rookery" box for transport.
The banshees were $49.99 the last I knew. The Rookery box is a little extra.
They come in multiple color combinations--so you need to ask your friend what color combinations he would prefer, if there is any choice at the time that you are there.
They had the most of the red/yellow/orange combination when I was there (first day of opening, after midnight). I don't know if they have adjusted the number being made in each combination. I imagine that people were not snapping up the red/yellow/orange ones because they were not familiar with the Avatar film. It would be a great choice.
There was a 45 minute line to get into Windtraders when I was there--a line for a gift shop, after midnight!

They sell out quickly but lately it seems they've been able to keep a steady stock

I believe it's still only 1 banshee per person

They are the Cabbage Patch Doll / Furby / Tickle Me Elmo / Hatchimal of 2017 for people going to WDW.

We were there beginning of August and it was one per person. We didn't buy any but we did watch several ppl pick their banshee, it's neat. However the banshees need a little time to work out the kinks. They are pretty much what UCFknight said and IMO not worth the $$ but if you are just doing what someone asks, you may need another person with you to buy the second banshee

They were $49 to start but did go up to $59 (plus tax)
They are unique and something not found elsewhere, so that's why they are amazing.
Well, there is something sort of similar found at some fairs but not exactly.
They are sort of interactive toys and fun to play with.
We were there Monday and they do still have them
You can't order them but don't have to do the matching ceremony.
