Banning Rubik's Cube at School?

Rubix cubes taught me anger management skills. I could never finish them without taking one apart.

If they allow gameboys and things like that, they should allow a rubix.


Sodas and snack machines were banned everywhere except at my highschool here. None are in the elementary schools/middle school.

Cellphones have been banned since before they were invinted here.


And my school has just started suspending people for going to their car to get something during school hours.

I don't have an answer for you, but wanted to say your son makes me feel really, really dumb.

Generally, I don't think kids need to bring toys to school. Even toys that require thought. My theory is that they ought to be learning.

However, if your school is one of the many that have kids coloring and making pamphlets and scrolls and stupid crap, then the Cube may as well go along. Maybe the kid will work on that instead of coloring and exercise his brain a wee little bit.

I would call the school and ask them if they can't have the cubes then what should you do with it, Maybe they'll let you throw it on the fire with books.

My school just banned soda of any kind and cell phones. The soda was banned because in Missouri, the legislature took all soda out of schools, and we can't even bring it anymore at all. The cell phones were banned because, people were using them, I don't see how, we don't even get service in the building! (Yes, I live in rural southeast Missouri)

To the Rubix Cube, I think that it's absolutely insane that they would ban something that is educational, and can teach problem solving techniqures...

I'll be out your way thursday-monday! I'll be in St. Louis for the wedding (not mine). The Maid of Honor lives in Cape Girardeau (which I've been to) and the bride went to SEMO for college.

Banning Rubix cube at lunch or on busses is soooooooo Flippen Stupid!!!!! Sounds like some School officials maybe intimidated!
