Banned?

So I was just banned for supposedly impersonating staff. My friend and I were in the Drive In when this guy starting saying his brother was the staff leader. We told him he was not and he said we weren't important and he didn't care. We said we try to help people follow Vmk values when staff is not around. We ended up reporting the boy for impersonating staff, VMK_Sunny came in, and talked about how there are no VMK Helpers. The boy kept saying he was the head of VMK staff and my friend and I said that he was going to get banned for saying that. Next thing I know, a message pops up saying I'm banned for impersonating staff!?!?!??!?!?! What on earth is going on? This is the last time I try to help. Gosh.

I wrote into Contact Us. Don't know if it will get me anywhere. I'm just feeling really down about this whole thing right now.

It seems players are not allowed to tell someone they will be banned. I think this just happened to another DISer yesterday. Sorry about that

Sorry about the ban. It seems to me more people are getting banned for reporting other players than the players that are reported. Until VMK comes up with something other than the current knee jerk response to reports it may be safer to just walk away....I have seem some truely awful behavior that should have been reported but I just didn't want this type of trouble. You know what they say, no good deed goes unpunished...Sorry again, hopefully VMK will come to their senses soon for all of us!

OK it ended up being a two hour ban. When we got back on, VMK Lion just came and told us it was a mistake, a wrong button type of thing. Phew. We were so worried. He put a lot of effort into finding out what went wrong and apologizing. It was much appreciated! Thanks for your responses guys!

Woot sanity returns to VMK! Glad to hear you got it straightened out, although errors like this should not happen, very unprofessional in my opinion.
