On a disboard packing list I noticed that there was a suggestion to bring a cutting knife and board to cut fruit with in your cabin. In my travel documents this was banned from any of the baggage and would be confiscated. Anyone have any inut on this subject?

Thanks!

I wouldn't bring one personally. Honestly, there are so many things to pack I NEVER even considered this suggestion. If you get fruit and need it cut, just get a knife at Topsiders.....JMO, hope it helps. I am all for packing only the things I know I will need. Since you can access this, I'd be one to skip it.

HI,
I don't see why you would need to cut up anything on the cruise, let along fruit. You can get all the cut up fruit you want up on deck 9. If you want even smaller pieces you can always go into Top Siders and get a knife, what the heck, if you really want to cut fruit up in your stateroom, just take a knife from a buffet and your all set. Can't imagine why anyone would want or need to do this unless it is for a smaller child to eat.

No knifes are allowed, I've even seen small hand tools (like pocket knifes with tools, etc) taken away. You can find a knife onboard why pack one.

We also read to bring a knife along (on the packing lists) to cut up stuff from room service. My mom brought a swiss army knife and they took it from her before we boarded. When we returned after the cruise they gave it back to her. So I wouldn't bother bringing one.

Thanks for those replies! I hadn't thought about the obvious - I can "borrow" a knife if I really need one that bad. I really felt weird about packing that particular item and am relieved not to do so.
